We have been desensitized to movies down the years, and there arent really any films now that could have the same impact as The Exorcist did when it came out. Moviegoers are more aware as well.

You need to remember that in 1973 or so, when it was released, people were still watching Hammer Horror films and * themselves. Its lost its power to shock now, but the film itself is excellent. The language in the script alone is worth the admission. The scene where Regan stabs herself with the crucifix wouldnt get filmed today.

    * is! Watched it when I was 11, still terrified of the thing. Literally cannot watch it. Shame the sequels were all woeful.

The Godfather - absolute * I thought! Much prefer American gangster, good story line.
Also don't get Star wars and crap like that! Also just watched Drive recently, was a good film I thought, however didn't completely get it - he made friends with that woman, they did * all, he got himself involved in the situation, then left without seeing her again!!

Spot on Kemo, i think The Exorcist is one of the greatest films ever made, it boasts a top notch cast and the famous Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

William Friedkin did an incredible job in bringing William Peter Blatty's novel to the silver screen.

I saw the movie when i was still at high school and people were actually leaving the cinema early, absolutely terrified.

May be wrong but i think this was the first horror to be up for an academy award, make no mistake back in the day this was considered too horrific to be shown on television, the times may have changed but for me the quality of this film remains undiminished.

Watched these for the first time over xmas and new year and have to say they are all total *. Why these movies are considered iconic is beyond me. They are dull and boring.

Away and watch Fast and The Furious, can't understand how anyone couldn't like The Godfather other than the length of it.

Which version? ie, Did it have a voice over/narration track or not? The reason I ask, is that different versions, give the film a completely different perspective.

The version I've seen is the one with Harrison Ford narrating.

    Bronson.
I actually couldn't believe what I was watching! It's the strangest and one of the shitest films I've watched, yet the actor and film get rave reviews.

Inception, interesting concept but that alone isn't enough. The fact that Michael Caine is in it and its still * speaks volumes.

In that case I would suggest that you check out the Directors Cut, which does not have the voice over track & it's not a stretch to say it's almost an entirely different story. For one, not being lead as to what to think as the following scenes unfold etc, but more than that, it opens the possibility & debate that Harrison Ford's character is himself a replicant, which as you can imagine, gives it a completely different perspective.
