Daniel Day Lewis' final performance. Pure muck but can't fault his acting once again. Don't waste your time.

Few parts of Cold Pursuit seemed like it could develop into a decent dark comedy, like it was supposed to be, but it does end up being forgettable.

    A simple favour (2018)

Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in a twisted crime mystery. Good strong plot right to the end and the connection and sarcasm between both actresses is brilliant. Good acting and enjoyable watch.
    8/10

Just saw a trailer for a 'Detective Pikachu' starring Ryan Reynolds movie wouldn't even be surprised if it's not April Fools trickery.

That seals it for me. Was looking forward to seeing it but that’s the second poor review I’ve saw. Tim Burton has done one hit too many.

    ‘Searching’

Dad wakes up in the morning and has missed calls from his daughter so tries to call her but can’t reach her and she isn’t answering texts. She’s missing and there’s no leads as to where she is. Dad jumps on her laptop and investigates what she’s been upto to see if he can get any clues as to where she was and who she was with etc.

Enjoyable film and keeps you wondering what’s happened until the end..

Didn't really do it for me personally. Was going to say it before you watched it but thought that might put you off it and I can see why people might enjoy it.

What a waste of potential. The first act had this positioned well to fit into the 'Big Fish' wheelhouse - because what would be a better fit for tall tales than a flying elephant? But once the second act got underway it threw all of that out, and instead was incredibly predictable what was going to happen.

On the plus side, it did away with the racism etc from the animated version (and it is very different from that film), but on the negative... so, so, so many negatives. If there is a saving grace - and that is an if - is that there is a subversive anti-Disney tone to the final act in particular, but this film could have and (considering the director) should have had so many more interesting ways to tell the story, yet ends up floundering horribly. Was the end product a result of studio interference or a director losing his nerve?

Have a feeling in years to come there will be a story here but what we ended up with is a pale shadow of what could have been... but Burton... to say the least can be extremely inconsistant.
