Hacksaw Ridge was OK. Saved from 'meh' by the great action scenes.

Think they'd have been just as well going 'full Sandler' with the main character by actually hiring Adam Sandler though (was a wee bit like watching The Waterboy on a battlefield! :84:).

You do realise it's a true story?

Thought Andrew Garfield played the part perfectly.

    A Street Cat Named Bob - 9/10.

I'm on a run of cracking films just now. Don't even like cats but if anyone watches this and doesn't feel uplifted by it you've a heart of stone.

Problem I had with street cat is that I didn't feel like I got pulled in by the story, true that it might be enough to actually care about the characters, suppose its hard to see then really hit rock bottom when they got a flat all to themselves.

La la land - I'm a big fan of musicals but this was over hyped and incredibly self serving I thought, no chemistry between the leads it felt more like a statement rather then something that was paying homage to the times past should be nowhere near front runner for beat picture.

Split was great, only gripe I had is you don't get enough of the personalities, the tie in at the end was pretty cool though.

Rogue one - forest Whittaker was just * in this for me, Yen was good, didn't mind the animated Tark so much but even though this and force awakens will take in cash so far in left rather unimpressed with what just seems like lazy writing and rehashing old stuff.

Sing - same problem as la la land really but still good family fun if you fancy something a little silly

Assassins creed - nowhere near as awful as I thought it would, I would say so far this and Warcraft after doing well to set a new standard for computer game based stories. It's definitely improving.

Collateral beauty - will smith is actually fairly decent in this, he isn't his usual quipy, quick witted, overbearing personality atleast not to much, again movie doesn't do enough to hit me though, given the circumstances it should be something that does but it just didn't push hard enough for me.

    La La Land

First musical I've seen in a long time, and I quite enjoyed it. I can see why it got so many nominations and awards. It's incredibly well made. The music and visuals are top notch.

Completely disagree with @celtic warrior in regards to the lack of chemistry between Gosling and Stone. They work a treat.

    This. :50:

If anyone wants to talk about lack of chemistry, look at Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. One of the notable problems with Passangers, magnified by the fact that the movie really relies on the two of them almost entirely.

For me I dunno if it is because they've been in so many movies together it's all got a little familiar, there were times in the movie as well were I thought it was close to matching scenes from the note book.

I did enjoy it, I was hoping for more really and just couldn't see why this is being so much hype and I think what I read somewhere the other day rings true, this is being treated like the artist, good movies to a degree yes but being blown way out of proportion because its the first off it's kind in years.

And if you want chemistry then it's unsurprising Jennifer Lawrence struggles, she couldn't develop it with her mirror image.

It's not *... but it's certainly not the epic that some have made it out to be either.

Middle of the road war film.

Probably ruined by sub par acting when you have the likes of Garfield and Worthington in a movie together, will go see it at some point though.
