Think I posted this on the first page but, anyway, Toy soldiers were my go to. I'd spend hours setting them up. I got a wooden fort for my xmas one year, maw and da had got it specially made. Wish I'd kept ahold of it, was painted and everything like an old US cavalry fort.

My da had loads of airfix soliders from when he was younger, I used to play with them. Eventually got my own sets, even the tiny wee ones.

Artwork on the boxes always used to draw me in, never realising that you actually had to paint them:56:

Mind my Granda sent over a massive box from the states to us filled with every wrestler you can imagine for xmas

Went on holiday to Spain took all my favourite ones with me and the rental car got robbed one day.

    * took my wrestlers, worst day of my life.

Fantastic stuff,i have so many fond memories of spending countless hours playing with my toy soldiers,i had the ones above and the tiny ones you mentioned.I also had those cool metal stand ones.In those days for many kids if the weather was good it was outside with your mates,if the weather was bad then stay in and play with your soldiers. Also just after watching a War Film or Western,it was straight up to the bedroom after!
Yes i had a wooden Fort as well, yes brilliant days, every Birthday and Christmas it was time for reinforcements! And if i saved enough pocket money!

Can only really remember toy motors mainly. Was obsessed with car's, go carts and dodgems from silly young getting my uncle to drive me round whilst I steered the motor on his lap..

I've never been interested in driving since I've been legal though. Weird..

Used to have this rubber great white shark ...took it everywhere as I loved great whites and sharks in general.

Marbles (glass) loved the colours inside them ..then my mate would play bombs with this muckle ball bearing (Steelie) and try n smash em.

Remember a weekly magazine comic called' Action' ...Hook Jaw was my favourite

Thought they were called Visionaries? I remember my little brother had load of them and some of the vehicles. We were talking about it a while back.

Subbuteo was far superior to this. Except I built my stadium up so well I had to enter via a turnstile to get in and play.

I loved Adventure Kit. You got a compass, a real camera, a dummy knife etc. Basically everything you'd need for an adventure. What a toy that was.

I have great memories playing with that. Ive actually not long bought the playmobil ghostbusters set for my boy but have stuck it up the loft because he is too young for it. Didnt want to risk it not being available when he us eventually the right age.
