McDonald's can afford to pay their staff a lot more than that and still turn a profit... I don't see the issue.

Course they should, the whole minimum wage should be raised to £10 an hour

Aye it was a cash in hand number and was only planned to be a temporary thing about 10yr ago. I quit because I didn't have a harness and was 3 up at a wee set of flats stripping it down. The risk was too much for the money. My cousin got me the job so I made sure to see out the week cos they were stuck for bodies and I was stuck for cash.

Dealing with the public is an absolute ballache, people expect 100% great service at all times while they treat you like a piece of * they dragged in on their shoe and should be grateful to be earning minimum wage, you really can't have it both ways.

My only experience of it is working phones, I doubt I'd last a day with people talking * face to face before I lamped someone.

Doing what on a building site because that is complete bullshit. Labouring, aye, piece of *. Just need to get stuck in and you’re sorted. Skilled trades aren’t difficult though?

I didn’t say anything about skilled trades.

Skilled trades are the biggest majority of workers on a building site

And surely they get paid more than the easy jobs?

What would be the easy jobs?

I’ve worked in a lot of different areas, construction is by far the most demanding.

    General labouring.

I don’t think physically strenuous and difficult are the same, in terms of skill.

I think saying general labouring is quite different from just saying ‘working on a building site’

Saying that, labouring is * easy mind numbing as * * as far as I’m concerened. Hated doing it.

Depends who you're working for. I enjoyed labouring for joiners, for a brickie not so much but was still decent. Decent hours and being out and about in different places. Beats sitting in an office bored out your skull all for 8-12 hours looking at the same view day after day.

I’ve laboured to brickies, scaffolders(before I was one), joiners, electricians, painters and done just labouring in general. Labouring to brickies is the worst out the lot 100% my backs * between that and scaffolding.

all low skilled workers are getting robbed it should be 10 an hour minimium. what the * happenend to the trillions of dollars stole from the middle east? why does the government at least not give the homeless a home and food with that money? and also pay and look after its citizens in the right manner. At least they could give it where looking after our own mantra when they are robbing and pillaging, but they dont even do that properly and no one seems to bat an eyelid. at least when the vikings raided these shores they sent the wealth back home with them.
