You wouldn't really say he was a "striker" now though, since Sunderland signed him he's only played up front 7 times. Played on the right 20 times, the left 17 times and 4 times behind the striker.

He's also decent on both feet, so wouldn't have much problem cutting in on his left from the right.

Yeah looks a superb replacement for Dembele.

26 years old, has played a total of 166 games, 36 goals.

    Sign him...

Think people need to lower their expectations regarding signings,Borini is a proven Premiership player(if we don't sign him another Premiership team will)last few years we have been taking punts on unproven players, some have been brilliant, most have been * if we are being honest.Think we would be a better team with Borini, just my opinion

His EPL record is similar to Sinclair, better also. Sinclair's is 13 in 119, Borini's is 15 in 104.

You wouldn't say he is a winger either though, really.

Or a midfielder. I don't really know what he is. :56:

Sinclair at least has a standout quality though...his pace. That's always a huge help, particularly up here. Borini doesn't seem to have anything that makes him stick out like a sore thumb.

His best spell was when he played on the left on loan at Sunderland and scored 10 goals in 39 games, 4 of the goals were against Man Utd(2), Man City and Chelsea.

I mind when he was on loan at Swansea and he reminded me of dare I say it as it looks laughable now that he mostly plays out wide and is a quick player but Chris Sutton. Swansea played him through the middle with back to goal and used him as an actual striker and his touch and lay offs and stuff were class, linked up play very well and he scored a few goals for them. I can remember wating us to get him on loan at the time and thought he was the bees knees.

Then Rodgers went to Liverpool signed him and he's pretty much played out wide ever since.

How many games in the PL did Sinclair start upfront?

Stats don't always tell the story. He was brought in by Brendan as a striker, was absolutely rank rotten, sent off to Sunderland first on loan, then on a permanent where he now has been shunted out of his "natural" position to play anywhere he's told.

    He is rotten, imo.

Most of the goals I've seen him score have been penalties, come to think of it. So that makes his scoring record look even less impressive.

As I said before, I'd take him for a couple of million as, at worst, he'd be a good squad player capable of playing in a few positions. But he's not exactly what we need.

Knew it :56: thats how he played when at Swansea though, a back to goal link up striker and didn't seem to do much running or even going out wide.

Since then though in the EPL he's pretty much now seen as a hardworking fast wide player and nothing like what he originally done at Swansea.

Theres a reason that he'd played for Italy, Chelsea, Roma and Liverpool aged 21, clever player with good technical ability.

I guess one think he would be is one of those players that any squad would benefit from. Versatile, hardworking (from what I can remember???) with decent ability.

Maybe I haven't watched him enough, but he's never looked quick to me.

I think even you knew but couldn't resist posting what came in to your nut :56:

I can vaguely remember him being a false 9 in that Swansea side with Sinclair and someone off the right but I can't think of 1 single attribute that likens him to Sutton. Small. Quick. Not a striker. Not good in the air. Not strong. Not clinical. Not known for linking up. Basically nothing like big Sutton :56:

I would say he was quite a fast player, faster than Griffiths, GMS or Roberts.

Wonder how he played at Roma if they used him out wide or as a number 9 or as the one behind the striker as I never seen him playing for them.
