Coming back from 2-0 down to level at the Bernabeu, not many sides can do that. Suspect they'll be much better in the 2nd half of the season, and will be amongst the favourites to win it.

    I’d happily take Arsenal.

Yeah, I’d rather get a decent tie and then progressively more difficult tbh.

I don't think we've shown that we've progressed as a team in Europe. Nothing since has matched the Man City at home performance.

But that doesn't mean to say we can't improve our performances in this competition. We MUST sign centre half in January cause we're shooting ourselves in the foot playing out of position players there in Europe. Works in Scotland - Not in Europe. Probably another right back aswell cause we have pish/no cover in that position.

All in all a wee freshen up needed, and a new mindset against teams who are more our level, and we could do well. Sick of being put in our place by the big guns now. Time to move down a level where we can realistically compete

We have 3RBs, BR rates Ralston he has great potential. Lustig is an experienced internationalist. And Gamboa has looked like a rapid option in that position.

I'd say cover for KT would be more of a pressing issue as we only have Miller.. we need to start using Miller as we are overplaying KT.

GK, CB, LB, LW/RW ...in Jan.. can't see us getting that tho..

Most excited I've been for a draw since the last 16 draw in 2012/13. Surely we are due an easier draw, Sheriff Tiraspol is who I'm hoping for if they win their group tonight.

A second string Arsenal would not be that bad a draw.

Yeah, especially when you see their results against sides like us this season...

    Arsenal 3-1 Koln
    BATE 2-4 Arsenal
    Red Star 0-1 Arsenal
    Koln 1-0 Arsenal
    Arsenal 0-0 Red Star

    Dortmund 1-1 APOEL
    APOEL 1-1 Dortmund

Always important to look at league positions with the likes of arsenal in the europa league. If theyre not battling for atleast third in the league come febuary they wont be long getting sanchez ozil and lacazette out of the directors box for these games.

The Europa League generally is strong in the Knockouts, last season was really just an anomaly as there was barely any good teams in it.

Man Utd won it and they didn't really face a team better than us the whole way through; Fenerbahce, Feyenoord, Zorya, St Etienne, Rostov, Anderlecht, Celta Vigo and Ajax.

Even Genk last season reached the Quarters and they only had to play Astra and Gent to get there. Nobody will get it that easy this season.

Astana winning tonight. Could they finish 1st? Would be some laugh if we drew them. Just shows the quality of some of the teams we face in qualifying

We are well overdue a bit of luck in Euro draws!

Probably end up being B. Dortmund.

Can't draw Dortmund, as they are also unseeded. (They are actually the only CL 3rd-place team ranked lower than us.)

    No, Villareal has already clinched.

So, with the first set of EL games (Groups A-F) winding down, it looks like the following teams will be seeded.

    CL 3rd place Top 4:

    CSKA
    Atletico
    RB Leipzig
    Sporting

    EL Group A-F winners:

    Villareal
    Dynamo Kiev
    Braga
    AC Milan
    Atalanta
    Lokomotiv Moscow

    EL Group G-L already clinched:

    Arsenal
    RB Salzburg
    Lazio

Wouldn’t mind getting CSKA or Lokomotiv. We usually seem to do well in Russia.

It' a shame we can't draw Red star Belgrade , what an atmosphere that would be in those 2 games.
