    We will go nowhere far in this competition. We are not good when we come up against any sort of team that is similar in quality to ourselves or slightly better. Europa League is our level, but when we come up against teams in the ilk of AEK, Anderlecht, Zenit, Ajax, Inter we bottle it.

    We are cannon fodder at CL level. And we are cannon fodder at EL level against the first half decent team we play.

    It feels hard to say, but history proves it.

    The Huns got to their final by building momentum and very defensive but they were boring to watch.

    We got to our final building momentum swashbuckling and attacking but there is no set way to play the game in Europe to find a way to win.

    I understand all the hurt and disappointed aimed at the club as a whole. Completely get that. Also obviously the Champions League is important to the football club, not just financially but in terms of glamour and stature. We all knew that it was going to be tough to qualify this year, which makes it even worse that we've not invested. With a better defence we'd have got past AEK with ease. They were stubborn and fair play to them, but noone can tell me they're a better football team than us. We should have beaten them in both legs. It wasnt to be and people are rightly upset.

    That being said, when did we get so * arrogant that the Europa League is beneath us? That is our level. It's not the Champions League but its still a Euopean competition to get excited about. Its a good level and we'll do well to get out of the group's, yet people complain about half empty stadiums but its the arrogant attitude toward the competition that causesnthe half empty stadiums. We don't have a devine right to be in the Champions League. Our club don't deserve it and thats frustrating. But * * lets get behind Brendan and the Players. I certainly will

    Thing with this is the fans have flung loads of money at the club over the past couple of years. We've earned a fortune through CL and the club have * us over risking qualification without improving and it's finally went wrong. So the pricing for this had better be attractive. Reckon no more than £20 for the play off round and the group stage games if we get there.

    Can see it being 30 quid tbh you think rangers are gonna give tickets out for 20 quid celtic need to match theirs to make just as much money off of it.... The quality will be better this year I think

    Agree with you post apart from we don't deserve the champions league where we good enough for the CL no we were not but we do deserve it more than the clubs that finished fourth and are in the whilst we are champions deserving and being good enough are two separate issues

    If we don’t strengthen the defence, as it is we will struggle to get in the EL group never mind out of the group.

    And if we were lucky to get going into the last 32 if we meet a half decent team we’ll end up embarrassed.

    The redemption is now for Brendan and Peter to quickly (this week) sit down resolve this funding issue and put out a statement telling what the Fock is going to happen whether we are buying or selling or doing nothing at least it will stop me reading every faking article I can find linking us with players.
