I know about the shares, but that's from way back. There's worse * than Rangers have shares in Arsenal now!
I used to live in Mitcham/South Wimbledon and didn't find many Chelsea fans with Celtic connections. I found a few with Irish connections, but even they expressed no opinion. They were nearly all *, but then my opinion of Londoners isn't too high! I should point out that part of that was me as it isn't a place to live when you are a small town boy with mental health problems and * all cash!

Cheam is probably the worst area like that round there for that..

I know what you're saying by the way trust me. Grew up in area's that was all them. Stockwell (no bad) then Pimlico (bad) which is staunch them the whole area and every second name Irish but practically despised us. Definitely isn't as bad in other part's though in my opinion..

I lived in Brixton for a bit, used to drink in a Portuguese place in Stockwell now and then. I was down that way the other week for a gig and saw 'The Swan' was looking as salubrious as ever. I also worked in Dolphin Square in Pimlico for a month, that place was dodgy as *! Pimlico freaked me out anyway, all the multi millionaires on one side and 'skid row' on the other.
London's fine for a day! I get really frustrated at inconsiderate people, so I was in a permanent rage when I lived there! Even when I go back for gigs and that now, I love getting the train out at night.

And it’s still like choosing between aids and cancer, for me.

I actually read about QPR having Irish Catholic founders, but can’t find anything definite about that.

    South Lambeth road no doubt..

Swan got done up but one place I've never actually been inside..

There's actually no good one's round those ways anymore. Last was probably Monaghans down Walworth Road..

Pimlico's a shithole now. Riddled with junkies beside rich *'s..

Choosing between Chelsea and Rangers would do that for me! I never minded Arsenal as a club, but when they franchised out with the league I grew a steady dislike. I went there a few times when I first went to London, became friendly with a guy who had a spare season ticket for some games. I hated it. He fell out with me and we I told him I would rather pay to see Orient!

QPR were founded as a merger of two teams with religious affiliations, St.Jude's Institute and Christ Church Rangers. I have looked into it briefly before and can get little more on either, but I would guess that there is certainly a Catholic connection there, but I wouldn't hold it against them! They certainly had a huge Irish element in their support and a lot of the regulars there would still have connections to Ireland.

I was in it once. It was full of bouncers who wanted a fight and plenty who were willing to oblige!

Monaghan's sounds familiar, not sure if I was ever in there though.

    Monaghans was the same..

Pub and Celtic pub for a good while. Then late night bar with bouncers in Walworth for the locals with tunes..

Rough gaff. Right across from the cop shop but now a William Hill..

I have the place, I was never in it, came close a few times.
I was in there once, I was clean off my nut though. Some lad gave me something and my nose wasn't right for a month.

I was in the Market House last summer before Kasabian and it was nearly £7 a pint! Admittedly it was Sierra Nevada, but that place was cheap as chips before. I used to use it a bit when I lived that way and was a rasta's pub, it was great and so,so cheap. Had a real community feel, if a squad car went past everyone would hit the floor instinctively. :56:

Yep. Was the last of the last spots for me till somewhere opened..

Usually after coming out of a rave and waiting for Fuse down Brick lane to open. Sitting on the wee outside bit upstairs pickled with some mental trance music going on :giggle1:
