Despite underachieving for a * of a long time under Wenger, they're still a massive club with huge potential amongst current squad. Think it's a job that will be attractive to many in that the only way is up after going stale under Wenger

Hope they announce Pedro Caixhina as their next manager.

Was a great manager at one point but after Barcelona beat them in the champions league final everything started going downhill. Slowly became more of football dinosaur and turned into a stubborn old man who refused to change with the game. Should have left in 2011 when they got destroyed 8-2 off Man U.

Agree that he should have left earlier, but he still managed to win 3 FA cups since that 8-2 game, so it's not been all bad.

Arsenal moving in to their new stadium was always going to impact the amount they could afford to inject into their playing staff too. There may be some truth in the rumour that as long as he was qualifying for the CL and challenging for the odd trophy, the Arsenal board were happy enough.

I wouldn't really regard the FA as a major trophy tbh even though some would. And apart from Chelsea last year the finals they got were favourable and they even still managed to nearly * up against hull. I do agree that the whole stadium/owners thing has definitely played a part in holding arsenal back but they have severely underachieved over the years with the squads they have had and imo that's wengers fault.

Fair comments mate, but I disagree about the FA Cup not being a major trophy.

It'll be Unai Emery when he gets punted by PSG.

Unai Emery might be the obvious favourite but in fairness I don't think Rodgers can be ruled out.

I hate to admit it but Rodgers is just such a perfect fit for Arsenal and it worries me.

Wenger changed the premier league and English football for the good, he will go down as a great manager for that. However he should of gone in 2008, he is stubborn and for the last 10 years has a dreadful transfer record, is too easy to outfox and is only in job because of how well liked he was prior.

Charlie Nicholas, former Arsenal player and current fan - referred to Arsenal earlier on the phone as "we" - is on SkySports just now. Just stated that he has only met Wenger ONCE!

How the * is Charlie Nicholas painting himself in such a light as an Arsenal man, gets used by SkySports as one of the goto Arsenal "experts" consistently speaks so highly of Arsenal etc, yet has only met the guy once? You're at the biggest sports media outlet in the UK, maybe Europe. Ever think SS are just using you Charlie? Would think after all them years you'd have made your way to be in the same room as Wenger more than once, perhaps to have interviewed, at a dinner, popped in to training, something.

Probably the same way Andy * does most of the STV/Sly news coverage on Celtic.

[McFly, post: 5954470, member: 38774"]Charlie Nicholas already mentioning Brendan

    Not happening.[/QUOTE]

Nicholas is a English loving *. That's why he refers to Arsenal as "we"

Notice the * doesn't refer to Celtic as "we".

I’d be surprised if it’s not future England manager Warburton, magic he is.

I thought they wanted him dead the way they were going on.

Arsenal will (hopefully) crash and burn without him at the helm...a spoiled bunch of ingrates of a support.

Charlie Nicholas is a *, end of.

He was just about greeting when the Wenger Out stuff was at its most toxic when they got thumped 10-2 by Bayern over two legs. Not exaggerating, he was on the verge of tears thinking about Wenger going out on a downer. Embarrassing when like you say he's only met him once!

Always tries to work Arsenal into a conversation about other teams as well. Only gets interested about Celtic if we're playing Rangers or if we play * in Europe, or trying to big up Brendan for another job. The way Sky slavers over him you'd think he was an Arsenal legend, but my dad who grew up watching Nicholas play for Celtic tells me all the time he would've been better at Liverpool and only went to Arsenal for the London night life!
