:icon_mrgr According to Clyde1 news, Celtic have just completed the signing of Dwight Yorke from Blackburn. :icon_mrgr

I didn't catch all the details, but I'm sure someone will follow up shortly!

    Cheers,
    Ronan

Just heard that Yorke and McVeigh are apparently our 'deadline day' signings.

Pretty disappointed as I was expecting a defender.

I think saying that his career is dead is a little strong.

I reckon he'll do the job feeding off through balls from Juninho, and knock downs from Hartson. The guy is a born poacher.

He will find it a lot easier to find his form again in the SPL, as opposed to the Premiership. With form comes confidence, and that confidence can easily be transferred to any level, including European.

Martin O'Neill is not reknowned for signing duds (not that there have been none), so I think he's worth the benefit of the doubt.

    Cheers!
    Ronan.

I am pretty positive if we do sign him, he will knock the goals in for us when he gets the right service but me, along with Bobo was expecting a defender.

maybe i was a bit harsh but i'm worried that we have enough strikers now to start up a second team, don't see the point in paying all those wages.
    beattie
    sutton
    BJH
    yorke
    camera
    maloney
with juninho playing behind the front two.

i'd prefer yorke than camera but it seems now we have blown money on camera.

Aye, i'm not sure the Camara deal was a good bit of business and i've decided to agree with rmpa, how many times has MON let us down with this sort of thing! He will score a few up here in the SPL and if he can rekindle his Utd form that can only be a good thing for the club!

    I seen this on bbc

    Yorke holds Celtic talks

Blackburn Rovers striker Dwight Yorke is in Glasgow for signing talks with Celtic, BBC Sport believes.

The 32-year-old former Trinidad & Tobago international has had a difficult recent relationship with Blackburn boss Graeme Souness.

Yorke came off the substitutes' bench for Rovers against former club Manchester United on Saturday.

Now he could complete Celtic manager Martin O'Neill's search for another quality striker.

Aye I heard abou Pressley earlier today, if we are to make another signing today then i've heard its likely to be Pressley, McVeigh or Arca.. Out of the 3 i'd prefer Arca, but we do need a defender so I cant see much point in signing McVeigh.
