Probably but I think it's a penalty, he got the ball at the start just a little but the follow through took him down and that's what made him lose control of the ball.

I rather like the incorrect ref's decisions ...... Gives us all something to argue and debate about.

As a fan of Rugby League, I can also confirm that video refs are just as capable of getting decisions wrong as the normal match ref.

    A pile of *.

The idea that this will somehow stop big mistakes is farcical when you look at some of the decisions given with VAR.

Some of the calls in Italy and Germany this season have been criminal with it.

It's a step in the right direction.

It'll just take some time to get it operating slickly.

It also doesn't help that many thick-as-mince pundits clearly don't have a clue about how it operates and they give out widely contradicting information.

As said it'll take time to embed but will reduce the amount of incorrect decisions, so it gets my vote :50:

Only seen a couple of games with it. Doesn't seem to affect the game too much timewise. It probably can't get every decision 100 % right but if it cuts out some of the so called honest mistakes then im all for it.

It's not going to completely remove incorrect decisions, however it will significantly lower them. That can only be good.

i think its another thing thats going to help the bigger nations and richer teams

there is contact in football and it is allowed but players are so adept at leaving a leg out, moving into the defenders path causing a collision an then going down as if they were barged

it will favour the richer teams wait till we play a team from teh big leagues and we'll see how var helps us, i dont expect much

what do we do if the var gets the decision wrong quite a lot ?

it makes it pointless doesnt it

Well it has just seen the Swedes get a penalty, that they initially were not going to get, when they should have so it's working.

Gonna be some craic when a pen decision initially isn't given, the other team break away and score.

    What happens then?

Is the ref still allowed to review the decision?

Don't see why he shouldn't be allowed to.

But it will feel pretty * all the same.

Team A scores, play stops, ref reviews decision, gives pen to Team B, PK instead of kick-off, Team B scores, kick off.

The vast majority of incidents are open to different interpretations, unless it's clear cut, i think we are now seeing every little bit of contact in the box being overanalyzed.

Don't mind the goal-line technology, but i think the ref leaving the pitch to look at a screen just ruins the flow of the game.
