    0-2 down and playing away.
Have shown little to no improvements in Europe for the last 5 seasons now. Bottle it almost every single time we get an opportunity.
Key players continue to let the occasion get the better of them.

Aye, this next game we are going to miraculously turn it around...

There would be uproar. Would be like conceding defeat and obviously the tie. Has to be seen to be putting up some kind of fight rather than going out without a whimper.

Footballs magic sometimes. We’ll all be waking up on Thursday after dreaming about Burke and Eddy putting us 2-0 up, then Tierney smashing in the final penalty in the shootout. That’s what being a football fan is all about. “We’re due a miracle”. That’s what it will take IMO.

We won’t be playing in Europe again for months, may as well enjoy what is most likely the last 90 minutes we’ll get this season

Extremely doubtful, but early goal could make it interesting.

Funny how people are saying if we scored early 'we have a chance', the last two times I can remember where we scored early was Salzburg away where we lost 3-1 and PSG away where we just conceded the next 7 goals. Let's hope we don't score too early:fear:

My heart sent my finger towards the ' if we scored first' option before the crushing realisation that there's no way we keep a clean sheet away in Europe. And no way we score 3 or 4... So very, very sadly I had to go with 'out for sure' :54:

Early goal will give us hope though. Even if it’s just for 20 minutes lol.

People think we’ve got a chance, when just a couple season ago we got beat of Lincoln * Red Imps? :56::56:

If you think I’m goany say we can get a decent result away in Europe & qualify for the next round, yer absolutely spot on.

Aye so it's a thread about a two legged tie and the examples you gave were group games so weren't really anymore relevant to the thread than mine.

So if Eddy, Bitton, Ntcham, Weah and Hayes start in place of Burke, McGregor, Brown, Forrest and Izaguirre there would be uproar? I'm not sure, that would still be a fairly strong side my man.

    Bain
    Toljan Boyata Ajer Hayes
    Ntcham Bitton Christie
    Weah Edouard Sinclair
It gets minutes for some players who have been out through injury and gives a break to guys who have been at it in every single game. I get where you're coming from, and I think we actually will play a full strength side, but it's not what I would do.

Not even interested in the next game tbh.

Obviously I hope we win, but I couldn't care less.

Only concerned about the League at this point in time...

Ah ok, so scoring early against shithouse teams like St Johnstone is the same as scoring against good teams in Europe, got it.

There's always a chance, but we're going away to a superior team who're quite decent defensively under Marcelino who's an excellent coach. It'd take all the stars aligning. But at least we can go there without fear.

I gotta be honest, I found the optimism before the first leg a bit odd to be honest, when I first saw the draw my first reaction was that Valencia would be one of the teams possibly in the last 8 for certain if not the last 4 and one of the strongest remaining teams. I think their slightly defensively counter-attacking style also makes it harder because maybe if there were one of those Spanish teams that are all about attacking we might be able to capitalise on defensive frailties but it's the opposite with teams like Atletico or Valencia. I think if it was a team like Sevilla, Betis or the likes I might've given us more of a chance. I also feel that maybe the Celtic Park factor is a bit overplayed. Since that Barcelona game we've not really had a massive result against a top side at home. A lot of teams are well adept at coping with intimidating atmospheres.
