With Dembele and Griffiths out for the Rosenberg game it made me think that we need another striker, especially if we are planning on playing 3-5-2.

If Dembele and Griff continue to be injured at the rate of last season then we will be considerably short in forward areas, should we bring another striker in or should we be looking at moving Griff on? I really like Leigh but what good is a striker that can't play.

Do we bring someone else in or stick with that we have?

    That's the question.

If we play 3-5-2 there's definitely room for a young understudy to play upfront.
Not if we play 4-3-3 though

I wouldn't be Griff along yet though. He's still got a lot to offer.

I would personally sign someone at 18 or 19, up and coming to switch between the development and first teams when required.

I don't think we buy in enough youth from foreign countries. Likes of Ajax and Benfica do it to great effect.

I don't see a striker coming from our youth set up anytime soon. Would look to Scandinavia, Balkans etc and see if we can find someone. Worth the risk and could save us money further down the line.

Nah not for me, 4 strikers is too much. 3 strikers is plenty, the problem is 2 of our strikers are injury prone.

I don't want to write off Griff either but it's becoming difficult to make a case for him atm, I would give him this season to sort his injuries out then revaluate his position next summer. I would like another striker in as back up though, even a young loanee.

The availability of our strikers is the problem, last thing we want is Forrest/Rogic up front in a qualifier.

No need for a 4th striker go back to 4231

No, we can get away with playing McGregor and Rogic off a striker, we're only * for doing this in this game because Tierney will have to play in the back 3 as about 5 centre backs are missing - Lustig, Simunovic, Boyata, Bitton and Compper and also because possibly the 2nd choice left wingback Hayes is injured as well so McGregor will have to play there.

    Griffiths - thigh issue
    Dembele - hamstring
    Edouard - swollen knee

And that’s with us only played 2 competition games so far this season! Can’t believe eddy hasn’t been able to train until yesterday either what a * shambles

Sinclair and Forrest options as well, not the best though.

Maybe even Aitchison at a push.

Scenes when we sign a 4th striker and no defenders.

Louis Moult would have been ideal - a good Premiership player, a reliable goalscorer and someone who would be content with limited game time at Celtic.

Preston North End paid £500,000 for him.

I'm struggling to think of a striker we had developed to the first team in recent times, the last one I can think of is Donnelly.

I agree that we should be looking for foreign players at 16/17/18 and throwing a few hundred grand at prospects with the hope of them turning into a VVD or Dembele.

Ideally an academy striker would be an option, but Aitchison isn't near ready for the first team.
