Not me but my twin mates' sister is common law wife to a guy who was a semi pro goalie who was once on Kilmarnock's books. He ended up being Clydebank's first choice keeper then got a move to Stranraer. I was round his house one afternoon and his misses fired up the day's results. Ayr United 7 Stranraer 1. She said "I would get going if I were yous, you don't want to be around when he gets home"...:56:

Not sure if they even have fans.

I used to be neighbours with Jim Denny who played for the Huns for about 5 minutes. There was this open secret where he was having an affair with my mates' next door neighbour. We could never understand this because his wife in her day was a good looking woman whereas the bit on the side was a total dog. I felt bad for bit on the side's man because he knew what was going on but would never leave her. He was such a poor wee downtrodden man.

My mum just told me that my 10 year old niece has passed her trials for Huns' ladies juniors. In her first post trials game she scored 2 goals. Hope she gets a move out of there at some point. She said to me on Christmas day: "I'm a Hun now"...:55:

2 of my uncles were on Airdrie's books in the late 60s. In their late teens. Never got a game. Their name was Carlin. They hate Airdrie for obvious reasons., especially as one of them was an apparent talent. Worst thing was, some at the club explained quite clearñy WHY they widnae get a game!

If we are reaching into the abyss then my grans cousins son was David McCreery of Man utd and Newcastle. And as a side note. Every woman over a certain age in Belfast tend to have a story about dating George Best. Worse than "I was in Lisbon story."

My dad, my grandad and my uncle were all in Lisbon. Trip was organised through a Paisley based Celtic supporters club. They were at every home leg of that campaign too.

No pros in the immediate family.

Dad played League of Ireland B with Dalkey Celtic. Cousin played for St Pat's & Shelbourne. Played intermediate ball myself for a short while and then at a decent junior level, still playing there now despite my advanced age, keepers go forever. Except Craig Gordon hopefully.
Missus uncle played a handful of games for Aston Villa in the 60's, including a match v the huns. Not quite sure how, must have been a friendly.
Lots of friends played League of Ireland and high junior levels here in Ireland.
Also a few mates who went to England with varying degrees of success, many many different and eye opening lives and stories. One did particularly well, 30 caps or so for Ireland and a 14 year career, about half in the Premier league.

Related to a rather decent Celtic player of the early '70s.

Not giving the name though, as I don't want any pish that I might post on here being linked to his name :)

I went to the same school as David Clarkson, was in his brothers class.

Uncle was on Aberdeens books and Fergie came round to my Grans house to sign him, but never played competitively for the first team. Great Granddad played for Arbroath.
