What sort of comment is that to make? Not really into the habit of replying to a post without reading it. But crack on, you can tell me what's so hilarious with regards to it.

Well, I for one am very pleased to be taking this lad on. He's been good enough to be on the books at Citteh for 9 years and even got some first-team football this year so he's obviously got talent.

    Show some optimism fellas, eh?

Just over 50 appearances in that period of time, 8 years? That is mental.

I can't comment on ability so I won't but why would you choose to halt your career so much by staying a at a club that clearly has no intention of giving you a proper run of game?

This happens alot now, do these young lads just like the idea of playing for a big EPL team even though they don't actually play - so they can 'brag' to folk? I mean its the rich man's equivalent of being on the dole - doing * all but collecting a wage.

I'm glad we have someone in early but you have to question the drive. Hopefully Ronny can aid his progress.

Down with this sort of thing.

He's clearly * hopeless but we all just hope and pray that Ronny can turn him round and make "something" of him.

The talkceltic oracles have spoken, so lets not consider any alternatives chaps :celt_2:

He went on loan twice and has been there since 15, before the oil money. Knocked back an extension because he won't be playing.

So not really all that bad. Probably should have cut his losses a couple of years ago but there was still talk of him being in around the 1st team at that point.

Why is hoping our manager makes something of a guy whose not had a solid full season in his career a bad thing? :97:

    That makes more sense then.

Probably unlucky with the time he went there and the Sheik coming in.

Wonder what wages he'l be on though?

This guy was coming through the ranks just as the money started pouring in, he was never going to get a serious chance. Although like Devlin said he did have a few loan spells.

Hope Dubliner will post here and tell us this ain't the defender we are looking for. Then he'll be a big success. But it seems he haven't signed for us yet though.

He is on the better end of the spectrum of players we could get with the amount of money being circulated

Because he is all about propaganda. Sell this as signing an established EPL player to keep the customers happy.

For the record I am pleased with this signing but can also see that he needs games badly.

Could be another Rafael. Could be another Van Dijk. There's really no way of telling until he's playing in the Hoops.

Christ, for the first time in years we manage to get someone in at the start of the window, a Belgian international, in a position we know we need. Why are so many whinging? He's been kept out the team by some very good players. So what if he didn't cut it at Man City? Who was the last young player who was brought through there and not bought in?

I for one will at least give him a match in the hoops before i make my mind up and demand he is punted.:fear:

I agree 100% and I am glad he looks to be signing however by the same argument I am not doing cartwheels either as I am sure you would agree that he is a bit of an unknown quantity.

He hasn't played many games. seems a bit of a gamble. although we have had a good track record gettin players from man city.
