If a player doesn’t want to stay it creates a poisonous atmosphere, we should punt him pronto and get in 2 new centre backs, we don’t need him to win the title, evidently with his recurring injuries and absolute * performances in big games. There is no upside to keeping him, poor management by Rodgers.

I couldn't agree more - IMO this is one of BRs weak spots - he overestimates his influence at times. He thought he had a lot of influence over Moussa and we saw how that ended. Boyota has made it clear that he wants away - after his tantrum cost us against AEK and his pitiful showing against the Huns, I have no faith that he has any loyalty or dedication. Frankly, I'd let him leave now and get him off the wage bill - if we can get any fee for him - that's a bonus. I'd sooner pick up an experienced CH who knows when to get rid of the ball. Even if its someone who only has 1 or 2 years left but has decent experience - that'll do. Its not as if any other team in Scotland has world class CHs.

If we hold on to Boyota and he lets us down (again!) in big games - the only person who should be blamed in BR I'm afraid.

I hate to say this but its time to face the sobering fact that Brendan Rodgers is defensively inept.

If our defensive woes arent addressed in this windiw once again were looking at going into qualifiers for the CL with fuckung jack hendry.

I literally cant believe were being so * incompetent and someone needs to give Rodgers a shake.

My biggest fear is we'll be stuck with this hopeless footballer. Absolute donkey on the ball and infuriating. Rodgers made a huge point about goal keepers playing from the back but trusts this guy? Doesn't make any sense to me!

The decision to knock back Fulham was a catastrophic disaster. We could have took that 8mil or whatever and should have had a list of back up options, he was in last year of contract and was obvious he might go. Shame on us for not having any sort of planning in place. The fact that he is a total liability-often- makes it all the more sickening.

I think he is going. BR just trying to get more money from whatever club is after him. Fulham defense is shocking. We might get 4 million from them as they rate him & need him. BR playing mind games, relax bhoys

So basically we've lost 9million to have someone who let us down in the summer and bottled it at Ibrox, for a year. He's been good for the most part but if he was never going to get a new deal then we should have sold.

It's about time we punted him and started to fix the disaster that is our defence.

If Rodgers wants to play from the back then he needs to buy players who can actually do it, hardly rocket science

I have definitely missed the most part...

One of the biggest mysteries in football is how someone so * can have so many people thinking the very opposite.

I read somewhere recently that statistically speaking, when he plays, we concede fewer goals and keep more clean sheets. He performed well at the world cup and a number of clubs including Fulham were prepared to bid somewhere between 8-10m for the guy.

Having said that, I don't want him anywhere near the first team. Benkovic and Ajer should be first choice. And we should have sold this guy and re-invested the money in a CB for the next 3-5 years.

He has never, ever, ever been within a country mile of fantastic. He may have looked great against *, that's about it.
