Professional sports are a bit weird, this whole thing of holding a player's registration and having the right to buy and sell it is * up IMO. I actually don't hate anyone for agitating for a move to the EPL (often I think they are making a mistake, but that's another matter); they are entitled to do so. Of course, it stands to reason that unless they are Virgil Van Dijk good, fans may not remember them so fondly as other more loyal players; but generally I wish them well to at least some extent.

However, I can't get over refusing to play the most important game of our season. I really can't. I hate c*s that pretend to be sick to get out of work (and make their colleagues have to work that much harder in consequence) at the best of times; but to do it in a game like that? He's not a silly young boy of 20 (I actually could genuinely forgive that); he's a grown man who knows what he is doing.

Just go away. Go wherever you want but just go. Please, Brendan, don't keep this d*.

the other thing is i dont buy that we didint know he was unhappy until just before the aek game either

    thats crap

the whole thing has been specatacularly badly handled and i cant remember lawel being so bad at this type of business before i can only think brendan was adamant he wanted to keep boyata and maybe he held things up because he so wanted to keep him and if that was the case i would rather the club over ruled him and took the money

theres no sentiment when all this money is swirling around

I can see where you are coming from, but one thing is for sure there are some questions needing answered.

    Was he genuinely injured?
What's his thoughts on his agents comments?
Does he want to be here?

Well it's just a guess, but maybe it was because the EPL window shuts so early now. If we (very sensibly!) don't sell our best defender until after the CL qualifiers (which is only common sense), he has his heart set on the EPL (I'm guessing here) and their window shuts before the qualifiers... perfect storm.

i'd like to think we wouldn't leave something like this to chance again

if a player is down to his last year and has stalled on a new deal then sell him, no * about trying to get an extra mill or so we dont have the time in a last 12m scenario, yes we could try for an extra million or 2 if we had him on a 2 year contract or if we had multiple interested parties

if we are down to this last year on valuable players then we need as a priority before he is sold a replacement in

Starting to not give a * about the whole thing, hes been a * and disrepectful, the manager and players have forgiven him it seems.

If he plays and gives him best for the club at the time of him being here then fine.

Whos to say even if he played we woulda made the CL,this is still a failing of the board and manager, not one player.

I dont condone what he did nor agree with it,but while he plays for Celtic and gives us his best like he did in the World Cup then that would be great.

If he wants a move out of here like many others do then play your way out and play well.

    Seemingly he's sacked his agent.

Is there any truth in it?

Don't care anymore, might make a mistake now and then but most of the time is solid, new contract...

I know the opposition hasn't been great in the last 2 games, but is has to be said the big man has been excellent.
