Can not believe what I'm reading in this thread.

Thought he was outstanding today, defensive tracking and appeasing for Jozo's * ups, interceptions and for the most part very very good distribution. Just look at the part he played in our second goal.

He broke up Hibs possession & started our moves for both goals.
Actually thought he did quite well today.

On a seperate note, I'm not quite getting where all this fan frustration is coming from. Almost every thread has 'punt him he's not good enough' post.
We're off the back of an unbeaten treble season. This year have the lge cup wrapped up plus Euro football after Christmas. 68 unbeaten & counting.
The two Paris results & the Anderlecht one were tough to take, but isn't everything else going to plan?

His distribution wasnt good. He gave the ball away a few times and almost played Stokes in 1v1 against Gordon with a terrible pass to Jozo, when he was under no pressure whatsoever.

I dont think he is the worst defender but he can be dodgy on the ball.

He's not as bad as is often made out but I find it hard to trust him.

We should be striving for better. Simunovic included.

Neil Lennon was clever yesterday. He set up to man mark every player bar Boyata knowing technically he's the weakest player in the side and incapable of stepping forward playing one-twos etc. We might have been controlling the match but in the first half, we only created one chance for Lustig. That's the problem. Bitton is a far better option domestically anyway.

I can't speak for every Celtic fan, obviously, but reading various Celtic forums I get the sense that it's not the Anderlecht result or the results against PSG that are causing some consternation. I think it's the fact that the team just isn't playing as fluently as it did last season. The football hasn't been as good to watch. If that corrects itself then most people will be happy again.

Again yesterday we saw a mixture of good and bad from him, Jozo at times didn't look to clever either tbh, the fact that Hibs were able to come back from 2 down only highlights the fact that we look so fragile at times at the back.

Meanwhile, Rodgers fully expects Dedryck Boyata to be fit for the weekend.

The defender went off in the second period of the win but is expected to be fine for the weekend trip to Tynecastle.

“Boyata should be fine,” said Rodgers. “The medical team tell me that it’s just a slight stretch of his groin but he should be ok.”

Gave the ball away for their first goal, then gave a bad ball to someone when the pass wasn’t on for their 2nd

Shouldn't play again this year, at the least.

He should be dropped for a good few games. Sub-Celtic class to be honest. Decent player for somebody like Aberdeen or Hibs but he isn't good enough for us. Punt in January if possible, need a clear out defense wise. Sviatchenko is offski, I would mabye keep Simunovic as a back up but need to sign 2 maybe 3 CBs in January. Our defense is a * disgrace and has been for too many games this season.

    Very true.

He is abysmal but Jozo is so much worse. He's still living off that Kenny Miller tackle but has been utter * all season.

I hope this German lad is good enough to walk into the team and play well but to be honest, you wouldn't have to be great to take one of the centre half spots this season.
