Ask the question of the decline again in 6 months.

Difficult to argue with winning all the games that mattered last season.

I would be ok with a "decline" domestically aslong as we win the league if it meant we progressed further in europe next season (which we technically did last season too tbf)

The unbeaten treble would only have been better if we did it again but progressed further in Europe, which realistically was going to be almost impossible. Some Celtic fans are never happy

Don’t like to meddle with anyone’s thread. But I just added to your title. Where to * is a decline after a double treble. Man I despair on here sometimes.

I'll play devil's advocate here and answer that for the OP. 22% fewer points and 31% fewer goals scored does indicate a decline. There are mitigating factors (injuries/Sinclair's form) but looked at in isolation those numbers are substantial. Had the seasons been switched round, and this been the invincible season, everyone would be saying there had been a massive improvement, is it surprising then that some think there has been a decline?

Personally the dip doesn't worry me as it just means we will be stronger going into next season with everyone back fit and a few additions to freshen up the squad. We won the double treble at a canter, not playing at our best. Knowing we can be much better must scare the crap out of the rest of the teams in the league. (Except the deluded ones of course, they are too thick to grasp that).

Won a domestic treble, and bettered (slightly) our previous season's European run.

A couple of domestic defeats and a few less than good performances doesn't alter that fact.

And a domestic treble and slightly bettering the previous season's European run doesn't mean the domestic defeats and sub par performances didn't happen either. Both things happened, of course winning the double treble outweighs the dip, I'm just pointing out why some people see a decline.
