I hope I'm wrong but it's looking like we're going to be let down yet again on deadline day. I've been watching ssn and online all day just praying we are going to pull something special out of the bag but I think I'm just going to be so let down when the window closes. Will we ever show a bit of ambition and sign someone to excite the fans.....sigh

In a word, no. Unless you count Pukki in that bracket.

Here's an idea maybe Lawwell and Co didnt come up with, instead of spunking another 1.2M on a nobody why dont you just sign a * 'goal scoring' striker

It's not over and we should be more grateful of the players who have come in. Pukki & Boerrigter played for top European clubs and are very, very good players. Biton & Van Dijk are very highly rated youngsters - one a captain for his national team at U21 level, the other a centre-half in the Eredivisie team of the year & player of the year for his club. Baldé has all the physical attributes to be a very good centre-forward & Mouyokolo will give his all to prove himself here.

Some people that we have been ambitious but we are definitely weaker than we were last season which is disappointing.

PUKKI WILL SCORE GOALS. STOP TAKING WIKIPEDIA AT FACE VALUE.

The good thing is that going by his interview he has clearly been signed as a striker and not a wide man or "no.10". Time will tell how many he gets but we certainly needed someone who will play up front.

It's boring having to repeat the same things over and over again but no one rated Wilson, Wanyama and Hooper highly before they moved here. Van Dijk, Biton & Pukki may well be a lot, lot better than all three given the fact that they arrive with reputations.

As it is we are weaker than last season, if we signed Finbogasson we would look very good going into the champions league.

He certainly seems keen to score goals here. I hope he does. :50:

I remember when we "spunked" over £2 million on a nobody from Scunthorpe, and less than £1 million on an unknown midfielder from Beerschot AC.

That didn't work out too badly in the end if I recall correctly.

Just be happy with what we have got. We got a striker in. What exactly is it you want ? The days of bringing in big names are over.

    Amido Balde - £1.8m
    Derk Boeriggter - £3m
    Nir Biton - £700k

    Agreed.

We lost Wilson, we've signed TWO defenders.

We lost Hooper and we signed TWO strikers.

We have Biton, Brown, Ledley and Kayal all to fill in for Wanyama and we've added a very talented winger to the ranks as well.

Some people expect far too much. It's been a good window in my book. Also Rogic who we signed in January, he'll be given chances, Stokes fully back from injury too.

    Why are people so negative?

Some of the whingers are getting over the top on here.

As you point out we have signed quite a few players of reasonable value and potential.
