    Former Republic of Ireland player, Damien Duff, has revealed his desire to take up a coaching role with Scottish giants, Celtic as he confirmed he is in talks with the club.

    Former Scotland international, Shaun Moloney stepped down from the position to join Roberto Martinez in the Belgium set up earlier this year.

    Duff is currently the manager of the Shamrocks Rover U15 side and spoke passionately on RTE Soccer about the need for improved underage setups and the move away from a ‘dinosaur’ mentality.

    The 39-year-old also confirmed on the panel that he is in talks with Celtic about a possible role in the coaching staff.

    “I spoke to them last week, I went over to the training ground. For me and most Irish men, it’s the biggest club in the world. There’s a role going there with the reserves and we’re still talking to them.”

    Always liked him as a player. Sad to say I even had a black Chelsea top with Duff on the back many moons ago:52:

    Would like to see us going down this route, old pros who played at a good level. Feel like our youth coaches are a bit dinosaur-like at the moment.

    Same interview he says he wants kids to train 6/7 times a week!!!!
    He runs 6.30am sessions (he got this living in Australia)
    I reckon if yer spending that much time training. Your doin something wrong in them.
    U20 is a diff scope of course. He's defo passionate about it.
