Was quality at the World Cup. Seems like he hasn't done much since then, made 11 league appearances in two seasons. Pulis must not fancy him. Seems like we could get him for cheap and I'd take him.

Don't believe the story. The guy hasn't played any serious football for a year
and he is too small to be a functionally good full back.Pass.

I don't believe Brendan would be daft enough to give us a small guy at RB when Tierney is only average height at left back.

Not all fullbacks need to be tall some of the best are tiny ffs. Roberto carlos was an inch shorter.

I'd be hoping it was a loan, as I'm unsure how good he is.....little risk then..

    Nonsense.

Some of the best full backs in the world are small.

Not trolling at all.Stating a fact.
It's not my style to troll. If some people can't see the limitations of
having two comparatively and functionally small full backs in the back line
    then that is too bad.

It would be better if they were taller yes. But I don't see how it is that big of an issue considering the best full back ever is an 5 foot 5 and some of the best we have ever had are under 6 foot? If it were that big of an issue surely teams would just target Tierney every game?

    I don't think so Minty

Tierney is a cracking player and his height is not an issue
because he has bigger defenders in his back line to cover for that (3).
Generally speaking I like tall full backs, means the centre backs don't get pulled out position covering for their lack of height, and tall full backs don't get spooked by by high, looping or diagonals into the box, or beat at the far post.

Football is like a game of chess, you are constantly probing your opponents defences and formations looking for perceived weaknesses, and trying to shore up your own weak spots, if any exist.

Why expose yourself with having two smallish full backs. That is a fact.

The part in bold sums up why it's an opinion, not a fact.

"too small to be a full-back", the state of Scottish football summed up.

I am sure Tierney does get targeted. Hapoel targeted Tierney in both games.

If we signed Gamboa for instance and we had a game where our opponents were obviously and naturally targeting your two smallish full backs with high looping balls down either wing, we would have punters on here moaning why has Brendan left us with two small full backs.

We are not talking about the capabilities of any small full back here.
We are discussing the potential possibility of ending up with two small full backs in our back line if we signed Gamboa.

Yet in both games it was Lustig and Janko in the RB spots who * up for goals, not KT... Both of whom are a fair size like..

    Not Scottish football. Just Venglos.

I must've missed Hapoel mercilessly singling out Janko for 94 minutes last week..

I do agree that Tierney is too small though...... I'm thinking Jordi Alba to replace him?:50:

Dozen't take away from the fact that their winger ran Tierney ragged and they did target him. Lustig is not a CB and Janko had a shocker. That was really immaterial to the fact.
