Aw this shot stopper patter as well. He’s a * keeper! If he cannae stop shots he might as well gee up.

He pulls off the occasional wonder save. So did the Killie keeper the other day, so did Rab Douglas. Every keeper does now and again. Means Fuckall if you can’t command your box and let every second shot go in at your near post. We’ll concede a daft goal tonight with him playing and he’ll blame his defenders, it’s odds on to happen.

 

The defense has looked a lot more stable and assured of late, even if we do get caught out, they still seem more organised.


Watch tonight as that goes to pot with him in goals. He installs panic and makes the backline far too cautious.


It is what it is, he is gonna be playing, thankfully we know why and he isn't getting a chance to prove anything.

But the sooner this guy's away from the club, the sooner we can look to the future for a keeper and feel more at ease.

Covering his near post just doesn't happen.

 

Never seen a worse keeper at penalties and don't get me confused with a Gordon fan . In open play he has proven he is a good shot stopper.

This 'near post' myth about goalkeeping needs to die. It isn't a thing. And hasn't been for many decades. Modern balls don't work that way.

He was the player's player of the year. Gordon was the writers' player of the year the same season.

 

It isn't true that goalkeepers shouldn't be beaten at their near posts. Gordon has positional issues, not disputing that. I don't think they are limited to his near post, though.

 

Apparently, accirding to Paul Robinson, Gordon "doesn’t like the manager now, he’s not going to, so it can be very, very difficult for a third choice goalkeeper to break into the team, given what’s ahead of him."

Lets see if the "shat sthapper" will refute it.

 

Realise this is a long time later but if a goalkeeper has a consistent weakness to their game that strikers know how yo exploit, and can’t fix that, it’s an issue.

I guess if there is something about the guys mannerism fair enough might catch in people's throat, but it's some wad of * to say he's a bad keeper.

Funny to see how noone put any of the near post nonsense against the Hibs goal, as if that was Gordon it would be a different case.

Some people can't be criticised and others can't be anything else but criticised.

 

Because Gordon does it very consistently, Forster does not.

Looking depressed after we score last minute winners, talking about the team needing to play better when he’s the one making clangers, speaking out in the papers as if he’s our best keeper, when he’s not even 2nd best.

Now with Bain getting a new contract that should be the end of Gordon here.

 

You just know he's going to be one of those * talking badly about the club when he's done and dusted and doing punditry.
