Craig Gordon

If we are bringing in a keeper we need to bring in quality and someone who is established and has made the mistakes of a younger player. Its too important a position to be playing someone with little experience.

I would not be opposed to bringing David Marshall up the road. Experienced and has played at the highest level and in some big occasions.

Rather a 41-42 year old here than Gordon, even if he barely kicks a ball. He'd teach Bain and the youth a lot more in 12months than Gordon has managed to in 4 years.

 

I'd let him go, probably one of our higher earners and he's either sitting on the bench or in the stand. Could bring Kelly in for Buttons.

Maybe Lenny playing a different type of game will help.

I like Bain but he's been pretty darn poor end of last season and not looking great in preseason either.

Think Gordon was unlucky to be dropped, but I think he can't be far away from a recall if Bain doesnt buck his ideas up.

Bain performances of late aside, how anyone can claim he was unlucky to be dropped is baffling.

 

Have to agree he was mince, got dropped and Bain played better.

I’m saying that I really do think it’s a position we need to look at and we can add better quality to.

 

His kicking was poor, that was it, he was hardly throwing balls in the net, which actually Bain is doing.

I'm going to put Bain down to a wee bad period but I'm worried it's carrying over to this season, even his kicks are woeful at the moment.

For me Gordon is the better goalie, just an opinion.

 

Was only Gordon's distribution which let him down. He kept us in the match at mordur before being dropped. He's worth far more points in a season than Bain.

 

Gordon is a great keeper.... just not in the team that the Rat puts out with two donkey CB's trying to rondo with him

 

This Bain bashing is way OTT. He's a far better option than Gordon.

 

His voice goes through me. Sitting for 90 minute's listening to his pish and critique every 5 minute's..

 

I reckon Gordon's still got it. Happy to have him for another few years.

I didn’t really believe it till now but that old thing of players get better the longer they’re out the team certainly seems true here. Everyone was calling for Gordon to be dropped up to Christmas.

Once Bain got in the team in January he’s not looked back and that’s how it should stay
