I had a soft spot for the crazy gang. Some set up they had

Even the time wasting that would go on with the back pass. How sides would see out a game using it.

Don’t know why but I’m thinking George Graham’s at Arsenal would be masters at it

I would keep him at the club for another 2 or 3 seasons, as a second choice and back up keeper I think you would be hard to find someone better, he could also be used in a coaching role at the same time.

Would his coaching entail techniques of how to make bog standard saves look spectacular by leaping in the air in the same spot and whipping your ankles up behind you whilst simultaneously fisting the ball over the bar or out to the side to surrender possession?

Or perhaps how to pass the ball out of play, or pass it to the opposition, or pass a teammate into trouble?

Maybe he could teach media savvy techniques of how to avoid responsibility for errors and blame teammates?

Moot point either way. As soon as he's milked his contract he's straight on the jambo express to Edinburgh to suckle at the saggy tartan teet of anne budge.

As a no1 his days are numbered, but as a back up keeper you will struggle to find better. He's an experienced keeper who can still do a job when called upon.

I would agree with that. If Gordon is ok with being back up the next season then we are all set at GK. De Vries gets released and Bain is the starter with Gordon now as backup.

Anyone know how long he has left on his contract? I've never really taken to him, though I don't mind having him around as back up.

I’d rather he went and we brought in another keeper personally.

I think based on recent history mate. He has had his fair share of howlers in europe. Beaten at the near post, running out into no mans land for the ball..

Id have accepted the bid from Chelsea when we got it.
If we are looking to move forward and better the team, then in goal is one of the first positions we should look to.

I agree about Gordon, but he said that Bain is never going to make a difference in Europe. I find that puzzling, given his performances so far.

To be fair, he looks like a miserable * most days anyway. But you wouldn't put it pass him that he would be a miserable * that we beat them anyway. The way he fawns over that mob while playing for a rival club is shocking.

Same, a 21 or 22 year old with some level of potential. Gordon is on the way out, has been since he made a (well deserved) return to the game. He just aint the player he was at Hearts or Sunderland.
