Surely this epic is way better than the original?

Aye I know mate, but in my opinion The Clash one tops the lot, and especially the Green Day one. It's OK at best for me. :50:

I prefer Johnny Cash's version of Hurt, Oasis' version of Come on Feel the Noise, Dionne Warwick's version of Heartbreaker, The Temptations version of Earth Angel and The Stranglers' Walk on By.

There's also a Russian guitarist called Igor Presnyakov who you'll find on YouTube who makes * songs amazing. Such as Poker Face, Gangnam style and the birdie song. Outstanding so he is.

Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me originally performed by The Kinks.

Rage Against The Machine's cover of street fighting man originally performed by The Rolling Stones, even though the Stones version is great.

Rage Against The Machine's cover of The Ghost of Tom Joad originally performed by Bruce Springsteen.

I really should have just said the Renegades album like greengrocer did. :56:

I'm not usually one to go ott, but they should have been executed for what they did to that song.

Of course excellent stuff, though there is another Floyd cover that deserves consideration. Les Claypool (Primus) has done a number of Floyd covers down through the years - 'Have a Cigar', 'Run Like *', 'In the Flesh' & Shine On, Your Crazy Diamond' etc. But the ultimate tribute was back in 2000, when with his 'Frog Brigade' they did a cover set of the entirity of Pink Floyd's 'Animals' album, as an encore.

Upon hearing it, Roger Waters comment was something like 'I may've written this, but that night he (Claypool) completely owned it.'
