Just recently discovered it again and play with a few mates one or two nights a week. anyone into it?

any advice for a noob?

 

Don't use wall hacks. ... your account actually gets banned

 

it's hard to see them without wall hacks

 

Was tempted. But heard its full of dicks

 

Keep getting 7 day cool downs because I have to keep abandoning matches to feed my 4 month old son.

 

Wee ace I got last night:

 

Watch some pro games after you get the hang of the basic gameplay.
Focus on 2/3 maps to begin with.
Something I wish I'd done was not dive straight into competitive MM. Get yourself 100/200 hours on FFA/DM servers. Download a few community maps that work on spray patterns for various weapons.
Learn a few smokes for your chosen maps and then head into MM.
Unlike the CS:S days the community has become infested with toxic wee * so use the block communication button as often as you need!

I dont even know how I'd get into it, played source for a while and can only remember actually killing someone like 3 times.

It's an online server client, like ESEA, detailed stats, dedicated servers(choose servers in UK, France, Sweden, Netherlands and Germany), better anti cheat, knife round to pick sides. Kinda provides the feel of a professional game. 128 tick servers as apposed to steams own 64 tick in game(have a wee read into it).
Has tournaments and weekly ladders where you can win prizes. You can sign up for free but they have paid subscriptions too offering various extras.
It's ideal if you have 5 friends to play in a team!

I'm currently Gold Nova 2 currently trying to rank up but I'm trying to take it slowly as I keep getting hit with * teams and tilting.

Would be awesome if I could play with a proper team of 5 as there's some absolute roasters in matchmaking that * it up for everyone else.

 

I have played more often recently - in my case that's like 2 evenings a week - and have come across some real pure scum. childish and racist trolls. ain't nothing better than to block them
