By september we could have the guts of a savage and very young team

Hazard =====> or another young keeper brought in
    Ralston Ajer Miller
    Christie Kouassi Ntcham Tierney
Musonda Roberts =====> if we manage to hang on to him, if not Morgan
    Dembele

bench: Doohan, (dev squad defenders?), hendry, morgan, benyu, edouard, aitchison

How do you think we'd get on? I think we'd be in with a good shout....

first post, ecstatic with musonda coming on board, HH

    Welcome to the forum.

We'd be there or there abouts, but we'd struggle without the likes of Brown driving us forward in a lot of matches.

    Hazard
    Ralston Ajer Tierney
    Eboué
    Johnston Musonda Ntcham
    Christie Morgan
    Dembélé
That is including only players who will definitely be contracted to Celtic next season, unless they are sold or returned to their parent club.

I reckon that XI would be too strong for anyone in Scotland. If we were to add a few others (a goalkeeper, a centre-half, a winger), that would be a near certainty.

We'd be relying heavily on outscoring the opposition. Can't see it lasting throughout an entire season, even if it may look good on paper.

    No, in a word.

We rely a lot on our experienced players - Brown, Gordon, Forrest, Sinclair. The younger guys understandably are a tad more inconsistent but you need a good mix of older calm heads and young energy amongst the squad.

A lot of potential within ours at the moment, hope they play together for the next 2-3 years.

Can't emphasise how much experience is needed in any team. Look at how stodgy our performances have been this season without only a few players.

Yep. Even Man U's class of '92 had the likes of Cantona and Keane for experience.

So what do you suggest we do with the senior players in the squad then, sell them?

I like your optimism, but this is just mental :56::56::56:

I doubt it. Just look at what the amount of games is doing to us at full strength. There’s games where we are really struggling but our experience takes us through.

If you took CL out out of the mix. and weren't hammering on for a treble.

The point I was aiming for is that we#re in a very good position regarding young talent. I'd love to see a team like that get a run out in some of the less critical matches.

CELTIC Devries; Ajer, Siminovic, Boyata; Forrest, Brown, Ntcham, Kouassi, Tierney; Edouard, Dembele

SUBS Doohan, Bitton, Gamboa, Miller, Sinclair, Musonda

    I'm Presuming thats

    deVries
    ajer simunovic gamboa
    forrest brown kouassi tierney
    ntcham
    edouard dembele

    a brave lineup hunting goals

and looking at the lineup for the hearts match tonight, if musonda comes on for forrest and miller comes into the defence we could end up with 7 players 21 or younger finishing the match :)

This is the most young talent we’ve had for quite some time

    Anything is possible.

We could have won 2,3,4 and 5 IAR with a 23 year old squad.

And we could have won 6 IAR if we'd only used 19 year olds after 20 matches!
