If you think Gerrard would be here for a "jolly", then you're (no offence) deluded.

Giggs managed it at the worlds biggest Club.

Gerrard has a far greater head start over him as well as the face and leader of Liverpool for well over a decade.

He can go and learn his stuff at Liverpool and use their sentimentality, I have none for him - none of us do and let's be honest, they can afford failures and weak links, we can't. He won't get anything substantial with them anytime soon anyway, why? Because they demand success and so should we.

What I meant by the 'jolly' is that I'm sick and tired of players/coaches and fans treating our league like its * easy and you can stride up at any age or any condition, walk into Celtic and get to experience it all. In that sense, aye they think it's a 'jolly'.

Managed what, he's *. Everyone of the fans want him gone with LVG.

He should start at a lower league club like the rest, that's a widely held opinion so im not speaking randomly here.

I think Gerrard would bring more than you think mate, don't think that'll happen but if Rodgers thinks he's ready for that role then I'm not going to argue with that. He'd be a good presence in the dressing room as well.

    I agree with IA.

Don't see the point. Him and Rodgers aren't exactly close and I'd rather he got someone he knows and trusts rather than bring Gerrard purely for his name alone.

He is obviously full of experience but in coaching terms he has nothing so far.

I see what you're getting at, but let's not forget these players (ala Cole etc) were approached to come here, it's not like they sauntered through the door * nilly and ended up in the squad/staff is it?

Obviously all of this is hypothetical nonsense, but if for some reason Gerrard were to end up here as Rodgers' assistant or coach, you'd be mental to think he'd be up here contributing * all.

Has he not been coaching at Liverpool as a player? Like Broony does here? Or is that just something I've heard?

Scottish, knows the scottish game, part of his staff at liverpool and will take * all to buy him out of his ambassador role at liverpool.

    Honestly I can see it.

He's a coach by nature, and was demoted to obscurity by liverpool after Rodgers' sacking. Could be chomping to get back.

We've had hun * before ya know lol

I didnt say he was good choice mate... just a probable one.

hopefully your right though, and he starts from scratch.

He hasnt has much luck with staff (except swansea).

he was forced by the board at liverpool to sack his staff, and employ GMc.

Actually... maybe your right, GMc might have been forced on him.

    Clarke it is!

Aye, that he was - so I don't think any talk of Colin Pascoe being his assistant will come to anything.

I'd love to see him getting Big Sutton and Hartson on board in some capacity.

Rodgers took responsibility for pascoes sacking.... saying it was his decision.

Given that board at the time, it might have been forced. a "they go or you all go" job.

It might be a stretch to get him here.

Looks like Chris Davies, first team coach at Reading, will be joining the staff in some capacity.
