    PERFECT TEN
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has made Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda his top transfer target

The £5million-rated youngster has been loaned out to Real Betis the last two seasons and Rodgers could break Celtic's transfer record for him
BRENDAN RODGERS wants to sign a star No10 — with Chelsea kid Charly Musonda last night emerging as his top target.
Musonda, 20, has been on loan at Real Betis in the last two seasons.
Rodgers, who watched Celts draw 1-1 with Rapid Vienna in Austria on Saturday, refused to comment on the link.
But the Hoops boss is preparing to spend ‘good money’ to get a transfer deal done and revealed the type of player he wants.

He said: “We have one we hope can get done very soon. He is a big, big talent.

“He will be a big player if we can get him in and we are hoping that will be concluded fairly soon.

“That will be great for us. It’s been something we’ve been looking at over a period of six months.

“Celtic have been great in trying to make it happen. If it happens, it will be a great level of quality.

“There’s no timescale or percentage on it. When it’s done it’s done.

“Good money will be spent on him. The player I’m talking about is of a substantial pedigree.

“Like I say, the club are doing really well to do that.”
Musonda is rated at £5million and Rodgers is adamant he could break the club’s £6m transfer record if he wanted to this summer.

He added: “It depends on the availability. I’m not in the market to just spend it because someone is a name.

“They have to fit in with what we are doing. If the right players are available, it’s just time.

“The market down south’s greater than it’s ever been, purely because there are so many players.

“Not just British but international players. They all can’t play every week.

“But that doesn’t stop us looking in other parts of the world too.

“We have been quite extensive in our search, but we’re quite specific in terms of what we want.

“The players will improve this year and that will also happen through bringing in players of genuine quality.
“A lot of football now is about game time and money. A squad player down south may be on £60-65k a week. It is tough.

“But we have tried to provide a pathway, a real attractive possibility for players.

“That worked last year and has set a positive marker for players. What an opportunity it can be to come to Celtic.”

Just love how it feels like Rodgers is in complete control, i have no doubt that he could break our transfer record if needed.
