Charlie's comments were very interesting in one of todays Irish papers, He said while Gordan Strachan was of working for the BBC in Austria and enjoying his holidays Walter Smith was out looking for players to improve the team for next season, He also said bringing in players like Pat McCourt is NOT improving the team...

ye he couldn't possibly have seen any footballers while he was in austria. also is that not why we employ scouts who then make up dvd's of a potential signing for the manager? or does charlie know what gordon was watching in his hotel room?

Hmm I don't think signing Miller, Laugherty and Velicka for £6M is great either to be honest. Samaras for £1M has just shown what a bad deal rangers have got and I thought the point on Strachan being at Euro 2008 was also to scout players like Tamas?

also walter didn't look very far did he? a guy who failed at rangers then celtic and he worked with for scotland, a guy who was at hearts before winning his big money move to norway, a guy who's been linked with us for the last year and a half and they're trying to sign another guy that the papers have had linked to us for over a year.

Charlie Nicholas just loves berating Celtic, I dont care one bit what he thinks about Celtic because he has never has anything positive to say and is firmly in the "Waiting for the team to fail so I can say I told you so" camp.

GS was in Austria looking at football matches, explain to me how he wasnt looking at players when we are close to signing our 2nd player that played in the Euros.

Charlie, you are the biggest * ever.

This is an interesting one. Personally, I think it was correct for GS to be at Euro 2008 because it gave him the opportunity to look at players, we are a big club, our Manager should be at these tournaments observing possible target players for the next 12 to 18 month period.

I dont care what Charlie Nicholas thinks.

tbh, i would of been worried if WGS was not at the Euros. there were players there that would improve our squad.

i don't think old Charlie actually has a football head on him.

Charlie Nicholas is a thud, Rangers have signed 3 strikers.. all of them arent even good enough for the Uefa cup... Pat McCourt is a backup for Mcgeady, Celtic never had a backup for him last season so theres an improvement straight away... Bawbag.

Charlie is a Celtic man, through and through. So he has his opinion and it may not suit most of us. He still wants Celtic to do well.

in all fairness mate when he said that he was having a joke with his mate, didn't expect it to be picked up. im sure you've said things to your friends that you would prefer other people not to hear. besides if you take a step back his comment was actually quite funny.

I don't think there's ever been an article by Nicholas i've ever agreed with. In fact i reckon i could argue with at least 1 part of every single thing he's ever said or written right through from him saying we should go 1 up front to win an away Champions League game to the fact it wasn't Gravesens fault he never made it at Parkhead.

I genuinely believe when it comes to football he may have been blessed with the ability to play it but his reading of the game is literally non existent.

it has been plenty of times by far more prominant people than me mate. besides he didn't exactly make a gag about it he just pointed out the irony in people eating potatos while singing about the potato famine. think you're being to sensitive to be honest

so it is okay because he didn't know anyone was listening? that was a disgraceful comment, especially from a man who has played for this club and knows all well about our irish heritage and why we were founded, TO HELP PEOPLE FROM THE FAMINE. it is expected from that hun jim white but not from our own. you disgust me thinking that was funny

So what could say the same if Ajax fans were eating food made in a oven at a match. I guess the joke is okay then?

Face it mate you dont have an argument.
