It's incredible isn't it? We're miles above requiring those limited players now.

    They'd be useful squad players.

Stokes would certainly be a better option to back up Sinclair, than GMS, for example.

Mulgrew would have been able to cover at CB and LB, especially when Tierney was out.

Mulgrew was on 20k a week. And Stokes was on around 15k a week.

That's scandalous for how average they are. Mulgrew would comfortably be our worst CB and he's hopeless at left back.

Just because GMS isn't good enough doesn't mean Stokes is. Forrest and Roberts are better backup to Sinclair than both of them. GMS will be punted as soon as we can find someone to take him.

They were on that sort of wage because they were important first team players at one point. Both did very well for the club despite having moved on.

I don't count Forrest and Roberts as back up to Sinclair as they're both first team players in their own right.

Stokes is definitely good enough for us at domestic level, proven time and time again. It's only in Europe where there are doubts about him.

The fact they were on that money in the first place was a joke. And the fact they were important first team players doesn't really mean anything given they were two of Lennon's favourites.

Is there any doubts about him in Europe though? He's just clearly not good enough. It's been proven time and time again.

Charlie Mulgrew didn't earn 20 grand any week he was at Celtic.

Given their contribution to the side's success, I'd say they earned whatever figures they were on. Lennon didn't negotiate their contracts, btw.

Didn't score enough goals for us in Europe but I can't remember how often his Euro appearances were subs or how often he was on the wing. I do remember him not starting in Europe much, at one point, due to us playing with 1 up top.

Aberdeen should look into bringing Mulgrew back.

Don't think he's liked much up there, but they'd soon get over it.

2013/14 he was quite good in the UCL campaign. I get he's a striker and needs to put the ball in the net, but he was arguably our best player in the qualifiers that year and played great against Ajax H/A and against Milan. Had a few hit the bar, and was very unlucky imo.

Mulgrew will get another offer in England maybe burnley and don't be surprised if Newcastle signed him as a squad player as he seemed to do well against them.

Stokes wasn't the only one that struggled in Europe. But I will always remember that magic dribble and assist he produced against Karagandy to get us through. That was worth £15 million. I could take him not being great in the other games as long as he produced when it mattered.

Sutton was right about criticizing Dunfermine for lying down as that's exactly what they did that day with that horrible little orange * calderwood in control. This is what we are up against in this country, but it doesn't suprise me.
Didn't Albert Kidd say when he scored against Hearts in 86 that * archie knox was going off his nut at him even though his team had won the game?

He's a good lad, he's trying his hand at allsorts. Hope he gets himself some semi-permanent gig.
