I still believe it is satire: the cartoon holds a mirror to those who are racist towards refugees.

The same magazine sacked a cartoonist for antisemitism:

"L'affaire Sine" followed the engagement of Mr Sarkozy, 22, to Jessica Sebaoun-Darty, the Jewish heiress of an electronic goods chain. Commenting on an unfounded rumour that the president's son planned to convert to Judaism, Sine quipped: "He'll go a long way in life, that little lad."

A high-profile political commentator slammed the column as linking prejudice about Jews and social success. Charlie Hebdo's editor, Philippe Val, asked Sinet to apologise but he refused, exclaiming: "I'd rather cut my balls off."

Mr Val's decision to fire Sine was backed by a group of eminent intellectuals, including the philosopher Bernard-Henry Lévy, but parts of the libertarian Left defended him, citing the right to free speech.

Don't like it, don't read it.

It's really as simple as that.

That is exactly the point: it is to show racists how stupid their views are by applying these views in the extreme.

I don't think the people at CH are capable of satire. They are too eager to shock to put subtleties into their publication. All they are interested in is a warped sense of "freedom of speech" and all they can make from the controversy it brings. They are profiting from the deaths of their colleagues in the most disgusting way.

No idea what you mean by them being "left wing" whatever that constitutes these days but they are certainly not anti-racist, they've insulted just about every race on the planet in some guise or form, the worst example being when they mocked the Russian plane that was shot down.

These people are scum, many have speculated quite what they are doing and who controls them, we can only speculate on the first bit but it transpired that a Rothschild company bought into them 6 months before the shooting when they were about to go under as no one bought their magazine.

I smell something very sinister about this whole business.

How can you be racist if you insult every race?

Racist or satire who gives a *.

Depicting a dead child in a cartoon is a * joke and any right minded person would be condemning it.

It was to be expected that you would be more offended by a satirical anti-racist cartoon, which you clearly do not understand, than by actual women being attacked and abused.

that approach has its downfalls though. racists by definition are thick. hence, why Dead Kennedys had so many neo-* fans at their gigs to the point that they felt the need to release '* Punks * Off'

CH would be better served taking an approach that is less ambiguous imo

I think you will find I was appalled by what happened to those women.

are we really point scoring over the death of a child?

The last pages of this thread are about the cartoon, the fact that people misinterpret it and are (as usual) easily offended by things (and feel the need to express that on the internet with the only purpose to make themselves feel better).

The only who is trying to score points is you with that last remark...

There is nothing to misinterpret about a cartoon depicting a real life dead child, satire or not.

Another point scored. :50: I really hope this makes you feel better.

Instead of actually helping refugees, please continue the post on here so that you can get another 30k posts on here which will definitely make the world a better place.

I'm not talking about refugees. I'm talking about the death of a * child!

I'm coming at this purely from a Father's point of view.

I don't think it does that at all. I'm in agreement with most that the joke about the dead kid is appalling. Period. In fact, I think there is a potentially serious problem here that does verge on racism - these migrants/sexual criminals are depicted as chimps and animals, subhuman almost. The irony is that's exactly the same views these sexual predators have on women - they see them as lesser, which justifies their behavior. They are walking a very thin line there. Sure, technically it is not racist because a lot of people would say sexual predators are primitive scum. But like any offensive comedians, if you don't like them don't watch them. In this case, don't buy it.
