    Exactly. All the talk about who we'd like to draw in our group and whether we'll be a 3rd seed. Let's get there first.

    I believe we get through our second round match regardless of who we draw. The teams in the third round are tricky and the playoff round a * minefield, what odds Legia??
    It would be nice for a few upsets along the way to take out some high seeds.

    I'm in no way scared of the potential opponents, I can't wait for the draw. I just won't be over confident going into them. This for me is why keeping Dembele is essential, going into these three knockout rounds with your best players rather than a few you've just signed with Moussa's money and need bedding in is my feelings on it. First game is 11/12 July!
    And a bit of luck with work and the order of the ties I'll be at a couple of these.

    I'm never confident about these games any more.

    With the exception of the first round (or whatever it's called, when we play teams from Gibraltar) there are no easy ties.

    The two away games in Astana and Ber Sheva last season were hard work.

    We'll do well to get two harder ties back to back than those this year, though.

    They were absolute ball breakers in every department. Travel, quality of side, quality of pitch, climate etc.

    Aye Astana were unbeaten in the Champions league home game's against Atletico, Galatasaray and Benfica the year before if I remember right. Then Beer Sheva just pumped Olympiakos out. Got out a group involving Inter, Southampton and Sparta Prague..

    Those side's were no mug's whatsoever..

    Hence why I actually have increased confidence going into them this year. Usually I'm like O'Neill above, pessimistic as * and bricking it. I'll still be bricking it, of course, but I don't fear anyone anymore.

    If we can come through those ties when Brendan was literally weeks in the door, with Eoughan O'Connell and Saidy Janko at RB (nae offence lads) then we are far better prepared this time around. That is not including if we get a couple new faces in.

    We also showed in the groups that we can be composed at the highest level and carry a threat away from home.

    rode our luck a bit in israel but came through, after our season the players won't fear anyone and neither should we, dembele's going nowhere and as monaghan said we now look like scoring AND winning away from home, can't wait

    this is how the 1st and 2nd pots will look like if we manage to qualify

    the teams in the second pot are fairly solid, so I feel like our best of getting out the group is probably avoiding real madrid, bayern munich, juventus and chelsea in pot 1, all hypothetical at this early stage ofcourse

    Seeding pot 1 (by association rank)
    Seeding pot 2

    Seeding pot 2 or 3 (TBD)
    teams who could be pot 2 if they qualify

    Top 7 ranked countries plus the holders get 1 seed. Holders are Madrid who are also the champions of one of the top seven ranked leagues. Therefore the 8 ranked (Spartak) go to pot one. Barcelona are definately a two seed.
