I'm not getting carried away yet....being stung with crazy optimism too many times at this stage of the season when anyone of a number of factors can conspire to shaft us! Bare minimum for me is the league (decent margin would be nice) and at least Europa Group stages which would hopefully continue after Xmas. The pressure would then be ramped up for qualification next year.

This year.....quietly confident we'll qualify for CL groups shall we say!!

Interesting question, one I have probably refused to consider out of genuine belief in this manager and what he has done so far!
I would imagine that, if we do fail, the first thing to consider will be the manner. For example, if Linfield go to Glasgow and turn it around I would imagine he would have an interesting meeting with PL and DD next Thursday! Whereas if we were to exit against one of the better teams in the draw,in unfortunate circumstances, I am sure it would be seen as merely a temporary setback. Qualification for the Champions League is obviously of huge importance for the club, on and off the field, but I think the club is far too well run for panic mode to set in at the first major setback. It would definitely put some pressure on the manager for the first time and his response would be important. I think a decent Europa performance would be needed just to keep the media from doing what they do so well.
I genuinely think we are the best team in the champions route and that we have that best manager, I would be very surprised if we didn't make the groups.

I wouldn't be as sad as usual if we miss out on the CL because i think we can give the EL a proper go this year

That's a solid draw for us. We should comfortably beat either Dundalk or Rosenborg, and thats not a slight on them at all. Both are decent quality teams who can give us a bit of a sweat, but the only way we'd lose out is by something of our own doing.

If we play to our potential we will be fine progressing into the playoff round.

Watched Rosenborg v Sogndal earlier today. Won 3-0.

1st impressions are that I never seen anything to be overtly worried about. Decent enough side, competent on the ball and compact without it. From viewing they played a 4-3-3/4-1-2-3 with the ball, while dropping into a 4-1-4-1 formation when the opposition had the ball.

Took the goals well enough, decent pace in the side and had good delivery from set pieces. The goalkeeper has a big throw on him, chucked it as long as some goalies can kick it.

Wasn't impressed with Reginiussen and Skjelvik in the centre of defence. Reginiussen in particular looks vulnerable when the ball is played around him at pace and with players of that ilk.

Having only seen them today, I'm not sure whether it was a full strength side or not.

Last season was the first season ever in our Champions League history we went 66.67% unbeaten in our away games.

That's a good point but if we had won the one home game we were expected to win we would have been in europe past Christmas or simply put if mcgregor had took his chance he would be immortal

Easily, as good as Dembele is if this team had Larsson it would be on another level.

I think Martin's team was still better. I love these boys, but that side, at their peak, was something else.

I think I would rather have Rosenberg as I think Dundalk would be quite feisty.
