    Never. When did I say they did? If our support travelled over they could be drawn inot something that would be reported as our fault. With the over the top reporting of the rise of Sevco, media will jump on any chance to report anything negative about us.

    There's 4 sanctions UEFA could hand out:

    1. This would be the first one offered, the fixture is moved to a neutral venue. This happened in 1998 when Shelbourne agreed to move their home tie against the dead Huns to Prenton Park in England.

    2. The game is played behind closed doors.

    If the above are rejected then sanctions are as follows:

    3. Celtic are awarded a 3-0 win by way of forfeit. (for failing to agree to offers 1 or 2)

    4. Linfield are ejected from the tournament for being unable to guarantee fan safety in the stadium and surrounding area.

    I agree mate a don't really care what the media say , but UEFA don't listen to " we were minding our own business and they started it ", they just see it as both sets of fans fighting over religious bigotry and both teams will be punished severely ", not worth it, hopefully we will have plenty more away days in the champions league and we will pump them out with as little hassle as possible.

    Are people annoyed about this?

    Its the weekend after the 12th, place be full of people who have travelled over for the 12th. I imagine if a load of us turned up there is the potential to be trouble. Celtic have a duty to say well naw we need to protect our fans if you can't guarantee that then they arent coming l.

    I work in belfast regularly and its easy to stray into the wrong part if you were drunk and wandering and didn't know where you were going really. I agree they are protecting their reputation but it is also about protecting fans, this way if they cause trouble with none of us there, and UEFA can hammer them.

    If this is the case then it seems straight forward to me.So why are the board not demanding UEFA force Linfield to do one of the above?

    I suspect the board feel we will win this tie easy so for peace of mine they are willing to let Lnfield do as they please. Ok we should win no problem but i fear we setting a precedent for future games.

    It's not the boards job to do it, that's the main point, although I agree with your point as well. If we get * for a Palestinian flag or two quickly enough why aren't UEFA stepping in when a club can't play a fixture properly because their fans and hangers on are lowlife? Infuriating I know but the Hapoel Be'er Sheva board didn't ask for Celtic to be fined. This is a UEFA issue.
