surely we could imitate playing the same system as salburg and therefore it would have been easier to play them last night if we were doing the same back

blocking their passing lanes, pressing in groups of players right on top of the player with the ball

they are really good team but our press is just so far off them they pass it round us like fun, we dont seem to press all at the same time in unison the way they and psg barcelona do like they can read all our plays

can we in our league where we dominate up our fitness levels to play this way and dominate and not be loose wth the ball, if we could surely wed compete better with the likes of salzburg, psg, barcelona, maybe ive got it completely wrong i just think we should be able to have the energy to be able to play something like salzburg and be able to play out from the back against this system the play without getting robbed of the ball and ending up going in to our shell mentally

All part of the problem with being a huge whale in a small pond.

We bully teams week-in-week-out domestically with our superiority. But like all bullies, when we meet someone who is bigger, faster, and better than us, then we struggle to cope because we're just not used to it.

I know they are a very good team, but by * we were terrible, couldn't even manage the basics, we actually looked scared to the point where we could barely make a 10 yard pass, even Rogic looked like it was the first time he played fitbaw.

Glad we're in the draw for Monday but also a bit fearful of who we might get, i know we cannot compete with the better teams, but would like to see a different mind-set than what we witnessed last night.

It was right in front of me and I didn't see anything hit him or anything lying on the ground.

All that was there was a paper airplane

Didny expect that from Rosenborg, still celebrating, made it even sweeter I think.

So do they though. Both clubs are in the same position, similar budgets. They don’t have work permit issues which is a major thing though but with proper scouting, we could go up a few levels.

Just the guy who started the thread "two words" then named the Rosenberg goalscorer (merged with this thread) has the username "James Murray" :giggle1::giggle1:

We were honking last night against a very decent side, but we did enough over the group to deserve qualification. Weird night though, depths of despair to elation

It is a few years ago but in a way last nights game reminded me of a Champions League Qualifier against Ajax. We had gone over there and won 3-1 but when it came to the return at Celtic Park we dithered and were unsure what to do or how to play and ended up getting beat 1-0 on the night and clinging on to an extent to progress through.
Last nights seemed similar knowing we only needed a point but were playing a quality team we seemed really unsure of ourselves and how to play the game.
