"No, in the UK and Ireland we can’t sell the rights to indvidual games"

but surely this what we're doing with the rest of the world selling individual games which in turn would suggest that Celtic and not the SPL have control of who they broadcast to.

Sky and BT have exclusive rights to SPFL matches in the UK & ireland.

They don't hold overseas rights which allows us and the huns to sell our own TV packages.

But how does that effect this weeks game when neither of them are transmitting it ?

When they sign the deal with the SPFL it gives them exclusive rights to broadcast games in the UK & ireland. It doesn't mean that they will broadcast every game but it means no other provider can.

Was going to buy 2 tickets for this. Unfortunately they are £30 each which I just can't justify... Twenties plenty.

I agree with you mate but unfortunately it’s the going rate, £22 to get into a Dunfermline game now and most championship teams charge around the same so no way is a Celtic game going to cost you less

@Lion1961 has spares available in the ticket section. Might be cheaper than a ticket from Celtic?

You would think they could organize some sort of deal where Celtic TV could operate a pay per view system on the games that are not on SKY/BT and offer them say 10-20% of their take.

    Then everybody wins?

Nah, they’d want to broadcast them themselves. Celtic don’t want home games televised either.
