Celtic v Maribor Itv4 KO 19:45

The thing that's really annoying is that Maribor will probably invest the money they've won into the team they way we should and we end up with yet another mediocre European side who are much better than us.

 

I still can't think why we sat so deep last night. The first half we basically camped in our own half, excluding the first 5-10mins. Any time we won back possession, because we had so many men behind the ball, we couldn't get ourselves up the park. Another thing that was evident, was players not wanting to get on the ball. McGregor was about the only player that was moving to try and get on it.

The way we started the second half, should have been how we looked to play all night. We pressed higher up the park, which then allowed us to have the ball the ball in good areas, and we looked dangerous. I think the fans responded to the way we were playing during this period also. There was a spell when the atmosphere was superb. However, we seemed to fall back into our first half performance after our good patch. It said it all, that our biggest attacking threat, was Van Dijk when he went up top. He won everything, as showed a great composure on a few occasions.

I honestly know a ton of people who think Matthews is better than Lustig.

He is the Golden Bhoy of this team but he's never a full back for me.

On a lighter note..anyone know the attendance last night...and was their fans fighting in the stadium

Not sure of the attendance. Heard it was bout 57k or so. I don't know why the fighting started but their fans were waving a red hand banner

I have never felt more embarrassed then yesterday as a Celtic fan.Utter disgrace,everything is rotten in this club,from board,staff,scouts-just everything.With this kind of performances we will get battered by anyone in EL.
Where are the players like Nakamura,Petrov and Mcgeady now,who where simply joy to watch?

 

I don't expect us to sign the same calibre of players we were signing 10-15 years ago, nor do I expect the players we have to trouble the biggest sides in europe and end up in the premier league earning mega bucks. Where the * is the hunger/heart/passion/fight that we have always been famous for? Why does it look so obvious that these spoilt * do not give a * about the club I spend hard earned money to follow?

Firstly I think the manager got the team selection wrong from the off and questions must be asked why, starting Ambrose instead of denayer, no commons, stokes up front on his own he's shown he not up to it on his own before. and * Mulgrew in there, he really doing my * in atm.
Taking Kayal off at half time, * decision he was doing well, much better than 1 foot mulgrew. Berget had a shister too and should have been subbed earlier.
Bit of a rant but I went right out my way to get to parkhead and watch this *, but worst of all I don't the see passion of old.
