The media et al have been giving Celtic pelters for years for not saying or doing enough.
But as we all know....Celtic deal with everything behind closed doors and don't feel the need to bleat about it.
    But well done Celtic.

This isn’t like everything else though, is it? The clubs statement claiming the boys club was a separate entity was the worst decision they could have made. Just glad they are now reacting to it.

It's been infuriating and sickening having to listen to this constantly for a good while..

I'm glad it's been going on a couple year's away from the public, but it doesn't take away the fact it's been terrible how our name has been getting dragged through the mud everywhere you look and the glee in which it's being done..

As has already been said, I hope the victims get the justice they deserve. Whether the clubs were separate entities or not, certain despicable and disgusting individuals who were connected to our great club have ruined young lives and hope's and dreams and tarnished the name of Celtic.

Imo we should be doing everything we can to help the families involved and as Lawwell said yesterday the situation needs to be dealt with carefully and properly

It is a separate entity. They can hardly lie and say it's the same company just to satisfy the baying mob.

So it’s all about the money then in your opinion?

Of course not. There has to be an acknowledgement of what happened and an apology by the club and offer support to any victims.

It seemed like the board used that to distance themselves from what happened.

If there is a case to be answered then of course the club should act and ensure that the victims are both compensated and satisfied with the club's response. The thing that gets me is how it seems to be portrayed that it's a Celtic scandal whilst overlooking for the most part the scandals surrounding other clubs in Scotland. It was widespread but not according to the media etc.

I've not been following this but can't help thinking this quote from the ET seems an appropriate way for the club to handle such a complex and emotional issue.

It is a concern how Torbett managed to return to the club. I don't know why he was sacked in the first place. I would've thought his trial would've provided the answers to these questions?

I'm glad we're leading the way by putting safeguards in place to prevent this happening in the future.

Well why mention it then, if I was unfortunate enough to be abused I would want my day in court and the abuser dealt with. Not an apology and some compensation.

There’s only one club that have been open to the public about some allegations and they have lied and spun it to make themselves look good.

Fact is everything should be dealt with behind closed doors and in court, the only people who matter in this are the victims and justice to be done.

I’m glad the club have been getting an independent investigation done, I was shouting for it last year. These cases always take a long time and especially going back so far.

This lawyer Patrick mcGuire is starting to get on my * with all his martyrdom!

Will he give his fee to the victims aswell? Will he *!

Celtic will do the right thing by these poor unfortunate people but due to ongoing legal issues we have had our hands tied and mouths shut in case it impacted the prosecution of these 4 beastie *!

    So true.
But as mentioned in the statement......it's rife everywhere.
Celtic have conducted themselves impeccably and don't feel the need to constantly bleating to the press.

Leave the sick gloating and "dignified" statements for others.
We deal with things in the grace we are accustomed to as human beings

    They weren't wrong though.

It's been a pain in the * to see * being flung our way.
But we have dealt with it in the proper manner

so, the * that commited these vile crimes have been caught and jailed.
so what do the victims want ?
    an apology ?
    an apology from who ?
can't be from Celtic, Celtic never commited the crime, the * that commited the crimes are behind bars.
or do they want more than an apology ?

it all comes down to money......

on a wee side note, why didn't any of the victims (when they got older) never go and hunt these * down and ''do'' them,
or even there families, when this all came out

Sums it up for me 100%

You see people create twitters for justice and keep it going and they say it’s not about the money well if that’s the case donate anything you may get to a child protection charity!

Go after these 4 vile * that done it to these kids! If a compensation scheme is set up it will become a free-for-all 100%

and another thing, how many of these victims (who are now looking for compensation) went to court and testified against the beasts ?
    just curious...
