That'll be Simunovic ineligible for Europe.

Lining up for the Europa League with:
    Gordon
    Lustig--Boyata--Simunovic--Mulgrew
    Brown--Bitton
    Forrest--Johansen--Armstrong
    Griffiths

You can't tell me that isn't seemingly destined to fail.

If we had denayer,I'd be a bit more confident!

    I'm assuming boyata though?

Knew we wouldn't get a striker, same old Celtic, nearly every transfer deadline day is the same.

If Griffiths gets injured we should just stick Efe up front for a laugh, he canny be any worse than all these other * we've tried in the last few year.

I know mate, I know. But that's just the way we operate under Lawwell, and we have done so for a while - you don't have to look far back to see the likes of Boerrigter, Balde, Mouyokolo, Nouioui etc, players who came in for cheap and turned out to be a waste of our time. I think it's just more obvious now with the likes of Ciftci etc coming in. They might come good, we can only hope for the best.

From a fans perspective, it's terrible...but Lawwell and the rest of them in the boardroom won't be caring, because it suits them. Sad to say but it's true.

What I don't buy however is these conspiracy theories that we're deliberately doing this because a competitive title race with the Huns will be good for us. It might be so, but it won't be anywhere near as good for us as winning the title year in year out and qualifying for Europe.

CL is a different issue.......there has been posts about huns winning the splfs...and even aberdeen has a thread....fair enough * about lack of spending but lets keep it real and keep the splsf also rans out of it.

I agree with this but we should still be getting there, we've vastly outspent the likes of Maribor, Legia and Malmo.

    We still aren't good enough.

Why don't we just go with our youth then, don't need Allan keep Hendo in the squad, same with O'Connel instead of Simu or Ambrose, McMullan could be in there as well.

Transfer window should be closed before season starts in all countries.

And season book sales could then be based on what team will be on the park .. Fans worldwide get shafted but we seem to get it worse than most

Can't see us doing much in the EL with our strikers

Vastly outspent them but spent it on what? That's where the problem lies.

We have a budget a good bit bigger than them but the gap in quality between our starting 11's isn't even that big.

    Something is going wrong somewhere.

In the UK ... The guaranteed income from season tickets is exactly why it closes after season start...

Would stop transfers being ineligible for eorope/ cup comps etc..

That or do away with transfer windows altogether and just put a season limit on it.

Eg. 10 a season per club any time, fixed number of loans etc...
