1916: Celtic play two games in one day due to fixture congestion. They defeated Raith 6-0 at home before travelling to Motherwell where they record a 3-1 victory. Joe Dodds scored in both games.

1909: After a 1-1 draw in a Scottish Cup final replay against Rangers (RIP), both sets of fans invade the pitch and start a riot. The cup is later withheld, and ends Celtic's chances of a third successive double.

Tony Mowbray was the originator the huddle at Celtic. The first huddle took place on July 23rd 1995.

Celtic legend Billy McNeill's nickname is 'Cesar'. But he isn't named after Julius Caesar the famous Roman dictator, as some people think. Billy was nicknamed after the American actor Cesar Romero.

Celtic's highest ever winning scoreline (soon to be beat on March 12 2017 :84:) was an 11-0 win against Dundee on 26/10/1895.

Yes, I believe both sets of fans were sure that both clubs had orchestrated these results for a share in the money from the third game. So they invaded the pitch more in displeasure than violence.

The highest ever attendance for a UEFA competition match was in the 1969–70 European Cup semi-final at Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium. A record 136,505 people attended the match between Celtic and Leeds United.

The attendance of 146,433 for the 1937 Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden Park is a European record for a club match.

Jimmy McGrory has some ridiculous and astounding goal scoring records:
    • Including scoring 472 goals in 445 games!
    • Scored 8 goals in a 9-0 win v Dunfermline in 1928.
    • Incredibly, he only ever took 3 penalty kicks in his entire Celtic career... and missed 2 of them!
    • Scored over 50 hatricks!

Apart from Stevie Chalmers' winner to claim the European Cup in 1967, perhaps the most famous single goal in Celtic history was Patsy Gallagher's 'summersault goal' to win the 1925 Scottish Cup Final.

Celtic also hold the record for the most consecutive final appearances in a major cup. This was achieved when Celtic appeared in 14 consecutive Scottish League Cup Finals from the 1964/65 season to the 1977/78 season. Celtic won 6 and lost 8.

Celtic have never played league football outside of the top flight.

The closest we came was the 1947/48 season, where it took an 88th minute goal in the last game of the league season to avoid relegation.
