got back yesterday was a great trip but they do there best to rip celtic fans off, the hotel its self put there prices up a week in advance of the convention, and will go back down again in a weeks time, just under 10 dollars for a pint in the hotel all the other hotels around about 4/5 dollars, was still great to be there and the pool party was something else.

just back today, been up 24 hours now :32:Got to agree with Mani, they did rip off the Celtic fans. Boy i was with paid $70 for 4 drinks at the bar. We started just buying a cargo from the garage across the road & they never said anything. We also got beers into the pool party over the wall as it was murder at the bar.

    What hotel was it?
Been in vegas before and literally a bottle of hieneken can cost as little as 2 dollars at the top end of the strip and 8 dollars down in cesears. Madness, but they do fluctuate a lot. And i can imagine they would quite happily rip it out of a large group in such a case.

    House always wins remember.

I'm not sure about that. I think at the actual organised events like the Dinner Dance which was $100 to get into etc they are primarily populated by the North Americans ( which is fair enough it is their convention) and they may be more likely to be a bit older but just generally around the hotels and the pool party etc it would be far more of a mix of all ages.

It was in the Westgate mate. You definitely can do Vegas fairly cheap we just didn't. We actually had a discussion this morning about whether we would stay in the same place again or stay in a different hotel. My personal preference is to stay where the convention is actually been held as you can visit all the other casino's any day you want. We got the Monorail to the far end of the strip on Wednesday and walked back visiting just about everywhere on the way back and did the same the last time.

On the day of leaving we found out the hotel wifi was free, after paying 18 dollars each on day 1 for the week, and also that every hotel room that was booked for 7 days had a free 75 dollar food and beverage credit to use during the week, they never told me or any other person i no about this until we were leaving, would go back but never were the convention was being held, ripped us off at every chance they got, the dinner dance was 100 per person 240 tables 10 at each table, thats a quarter of a million dollars made, and thats only from that night. They also charged for the green night and to get in and watch the Scotland England game, really do wonder were the money goes.

If i go again, it wouldn't be were the convention is being held. On checking in they tried to make all the rooms i had booked upgrade & were saying the resort fee had to be paid. We ended up getting our correct rooms with the wifi for free for the 9 days. I also wouldn't go only for 5 or 7 days as that is long enough
