Thinking about how Christie has basically came out of nowhere to become a monster and earn himself a new contract, can anyone else think of any examples a players just sidelined us out of nowhere?

Can think of two in the current squad, Boyata in the invincible season, was completely out the picture, worked his balls off and won his place deservedly.

Tam Rogic under Ronny, was talented and injury prone under Lenny, farmed out on loan, just kicking about the sud for a few years - rumoured to be leaving - in the space of about a month he was then our most important player.

Mulgrew went from a strange signing to the whole support then quickly turned into nearly everyones favourite player.

That’s a belter, Barnes and Dalglish were playing him right back, had him isolated and lonely outwith football. O’Neill came in, brought him in the fold, played him in midfield and the rest is history.

Also, briefly, turned Bobby Petta right around

    * aye, up until Sammy Sunday at Ibrox, that many players injured we had to draft him in at LM. Ended up a cracking signing.

Paul Elliot was mince and got quite a bit stick, turned it around and ended up phenomenal for us.

I remember some standout moments that I just wouldnt of thought he'd be capable of, that match against killie he got 2 goals and an unreal assist, one was skinning their full back and curling it into the corner with his right foot!

Cant remember who was against maybe accies in midweek he scored from like 40 yards haha not as good as KT's but up there.

Similar situation to Forrest at the minute, when the confidence is that high a player can go up a few levels.

That Killie game to seal the league he was unreal. My favourite bit of him was in the CL though - not even being the highest assister in the CL group stages when we got through, two moments that just made me know that team had the minerals. Messi trying to take a drop ball right outside our penalty area, Mulgrew storming over and etting him know in no uncertain terms he’d be returning the ball to the team and blootering it to Victor Valdes.

And against Spartak, playing out the edgy last few minutes to get us into the CL proper, taking a short corner to hold it in the wings - their players trying to go 4/5 yards away instead of ten and Mulgrew * screaming for the all the cameras to hear ‘hey hey hey’ pointing them out to the ref, getting them to * and holding the ball out succesfully in the corner. For what was on the line, the way we seen that game out was unreal, compare that to the last 10 minutes against Leipzig man!

Love * like that, love the do or die mentality.

Wasn't Forrest just on his way out the door before Brendan came in? Think he said he stayed on basically because of that appointment.

Broony under Lennon and under Rodgers has proved a lot of doubters wrong too. Not so much of a 'turnaround' though. Dan Maj was pretty solid at that back in the end after people wanted rid.

Griffiths looked like he was gonna be loaned to Hibs when Ronny came in but he stuck in and ended up being our top goal scorer with 20 goals and then 40 the next season.

The biggest turnaround I've ever seen was Kelvin Wilson from a hopeless mess to the budget Franco Baresi in a matter of months :giggle1:

    All about the collective
    Lustigs gone full circle.

Certainly Forster no one was delighted when his second loan spell was announced and he went straight in against Sion

Stu while it was some turnaround i wouldnt say it was his fault his start at us panned out the way it did. Ronny just didnt have a clue what to do with him.

Tams definitely the biggest for me. Never saw his 2015/16 form coming nevermind how hes been under Brendan.

Griffiths and Stokes had a cracking partnership the last 6 months of the season before Ronny’s?
