What gesture? He has denied that the reported figure is true. I wonder if he will sue the newspapers for libel.

Look no matter what our differing opinions on this matter are, if it wasn’t for guys like Matt that helped oust the old board we might not have a club. And all that abuse on twitter is * hun behaviour.

any company is open to be sued and that is why they take out public liability insurance. If the club is found to be negligible, then so be it.

I know Matt McGlone and he seems a nice guy. Don't think he deserves some of the stick he's been getting

True "This is about health and safety" he says but he never thought to warn other fans of the Club despite spouting pish about Celtic 24/7 - he could have led other fans to serious injury and death. :fear:

As I said previously any compensation won't be paid by the Club ,so am not really bothered ,but I see he has said 55k will go to charity now I assume that was always the plan .. Weird that wasn't said initially mind :giggle1:

C'mon mate, you'd probably be saying the same thing yerself if you were getting dog's abuse over the internet.

Although, I don't know if he has seen the irony in "say it to my face" whilst posting a picture of him looking like Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky :56:

Exactly, the money will come from insurers although Celtic will probably have to pay a % toward it if it's awrded in McGlone's favour.

Just looking at that photo again, that's a * shocker of a wound - every * and their granny's know the grounding is slippery as * when it's wet and I know I've slipped the odd time.

£55k (or whatever the figure may be) i'd be wanting that anaw for some sort of recorrective surgery, and would i * be donating it to cancer research.

    True :56:

I haven't seen last night's exchanges to be fair, just that twitter link above..

Still though. He's going through legal matters. Fair enough show the injury but silly on his part getting drawn in to exchanges..

Maybe he's more Tony Montana :56:

Same here, I've no seen any exchanges other than what's been posted on here.

It's simply the downside of posting on social media (albeit posting for attention which he's got) - end up with some amount of roasters giving you pelters and whatnot - if you get drawm into an argument then * mend ye as my wee granny would say.

On another note - * going off their nut about the guy claiming for an injury like that - we've paid out FAR more over the years in supporter fines ffs.

Dunno much about McGlone these days but I know one thing - guy was absolutely instrumental in our change in the mid 90's so he deserves a bit of grace. I know Celtic treat other like-minded folk with utter disgrace too, so they're not without sin themselves...

I would not want to sue the club but at the same time, they'll have insurance for things like this, you'd think.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me.

    But...

Aye. He may even get wound up saying something that he regrets and could be used against him for his claim. No good out of being on it arguing on his part..

I hold my hands up in that I know the name but didn't know exactly what effort he'd put in to help save the club, or remember anyway. Was he on that bbc doc a year or so back when that phrase the rebels have won was shown (mentioned by Packy)?
