Just read today as well that we wanted Gary Lineker on trial, before he went to Leicester.

Thomas Hitzlsperger was on a trial with us when Martin O'Neill came in. MoN didn't fancy him then he ended up at Aston Villa then latterly Stuttgart and Lazio.

Decent left peg but nowhere near Thompson at his peak.

Did he not come out the closet once he had retired.

    Friedel, Given, Packie and Kerr.

    We keep the latter.

    Schwarzer as well I think.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure it was work permit problems with they two though.

I still can't get over it.

    He wanted the * move.

All was set, wages and everything agreed and MON says 'wait, we need a trial to see if he's still up to it...'

Aye, I was pushing 16 myself, and with what the internet was back then what I could find on Dela Pena at least excited me, didn't he end up a deportivo la coruna and done well for himself there, I mean after all * were both 26 so a decent age.

It makes me think back and realise that all the talent we offered trails or had on trail we only ever signed Stan Varga?? :43:

Most annoyed ive been with something like this. Watched him with Rovers knowing he was good enough for us . Gets the trial and we dont sign him. Starring for everton in the europa league months later. 65k ffs.

The club brought over the next promising full back Rovers had for a trial but he hasnt kicked on at all.

Most recently from Rovers. We were the first club to give the current Irish u-16 captain a trial when he was u-15. He has since gone to Southampton.
