    I'd play

    Gordon

    Ralston
    Hendry
    Benkovic
    Izaguirre

    Sinclair
    Brown
    Ntcham
    Bitton
    Burke

    Dembele

Won't be the team but we'll rest a good few players and probably get beat and I don't care, it's all about the final and in for the treble treble.

THIS Sunday, Celtic will celebrate their eighth league title in a row as the Premiership trophy is held aloft at Paradise once again.

And fittingly, one of the club’s most iconic No.8s will be closely involved on another day of celebration, with The Maestro himself, Paul McStay, a special guest at Celtic Park for Sunday’s game against Hearts.

Paul will bring the Premiership trophy into Celtic Park and lead the Celtic first-team into Paradise before the game.

Then, after the match on Sunday, he will bring the trophy on to the Paradise turf as it is handed over to our current No. 8 Scott Brown, who will lift the trophy for the eighth consecutive season in front of a sell-out crowd.

Paul McStay was a one-club man, spending 16 years with Celtic. He made 677 appearances for the Hoops – only the late great Billy McNeill played more times for Celtic. The Maestro also scored 72 goals, and won three league titles, four Scottish Cups and the League Cup.

As Paradise celebrates an incredible eight league titles in a row, it is only fitting that two great Celtic No.8s will take centre-stage in the Trophy Day celebrations.

For Scott Brown, this will be his ninth league title, while he has also won four Scottish Cups and five League Cups since joining the club back in 2007.

The Celtic captain is now ninth in Celtic’s all-time appearance table, with 524 appearances so far for the Hoops, and he will also be hoping to lead the team to an incredible Treble Treble when Celtic take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final on May 25

and James Forrest won’t be involved at the weekend but both should be fit for the cup final.”

is a possibility for Sunday. He’s training with the squad this week, as is Ewan Henderson. We’ve got boys that are carrying knocks and we don’t feel the need to risk them ahead of the cup final.

Would love ya to give a few of the younger ones a game. Couldn’t give a * about the result if I’m honest as long as we keep players fit for the final.

Clearly it makes sense to not play those who will start in the cup final this weekend but it will also be fun to watch some of our promising young players like Henderson who has impressed in his few appearances and Dembele play. I imagine Johnson will likely play as well.

No harm in giving a few youngsters a run out sunday, rest a few players and who knows one or two of them might shine bright enough to get an appearance in the Final?

    Nothing to lose!

    3-1 to the Hoops.

I'm hoping if Karamoko plays he does well and becomes a first team regular instantly. Quite like Tierney did he kind of just suddenly became our main Left Back or atleast best Left Back.

TO once again recognise the tragedy of The Great Hunger (An Gorta Mór), Celtic will once again be recognising National Famine Commemoration Day, and will wear the club’s Celtic Cross logo on the Hoops when the players take to the field this Sunday for the match against Hearts on Trophy Day at Celtic Park.

Unquestionably, The Great Hunger was a transforming event in Ireland, which changed the demographic and cultural landscape forever. Indeed, there is nothing else in the history of the Irish people that can be likened to The Great Hunger, either for its immediate impact, or its legacy of emigration, cultural loss and decline of the Irish language.

As a Scottish club established in 1888 with such proud Irish roots, Celtic will always be linked to these tragic events.

Josepha Madigan T.D., Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Chair of the National Famine Commemoration Committee announced recently that this year’s National Famine Commemoration will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Sligo City

Minister Madigan said: “This will be the 12th consecutive year in which the National Famine Commemoration has taken place, and each commemoration has afforded us an opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of those who perished and suffered during that desolate time.

“The choice of Sligo as host for the 2019 National Famine Commemoration is particularly significant given the strength of its historic links with An Gorta Mór. The population of County Sligo fell by one-third between 1841 and 1851, those who did not die of hunger and disease, emigrating.

"The Commemoration will honour the lost generation who died or emigrated during this time. My Department and I look forward to working with Sligo County Council and the local community, to deliver a fitting commemoration of the Famine”

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “The origins of Celtic Football Club will forever be connected to The Great Famine and it is hugely important that we once again mark this annual memorial.

“It is important that we always remember the devastating and lasting affect which the Famine had on the lives of so many millions of people, and we are pleased again to play our part in this year’s commemoration."

A number of the special jerseys from Sunday’s match will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to the work of Celtic FC Foundation.
