Desmond doesn’t like Hiddink you ever read how close he became to Celtic manager in 2000? Desmond then overruled the board and brought in Martin O’Neill and Hiddink was a done deal he just had to meet Dermott to go over his budget and dermot said he had nothing behind his eyes or passion to that effect.

That's the way we used to do it, but Rodgers was on a fixed term contract. I'd expect anyone of any standing in the game to insist on a 3 year deal. Someone relatively inexperienced, or that hasn't managed big clubs, might be more willing to accept a rolling contract.
