Captain tonight

what do people think is the reason for keane being captain tonight? (ie not petrov). i think its one of 2 reasons.

1.Keane has decided hes quittin in the summer and wanted to captain celtic before he did.

2.Stan is definately out in summer and they see no point in him captaining a side hes leaving

 

You honestly think that WGS would give the captaincy to someone to fulfill a boyhood dream after all he's said about not cheapening the jersey? Nah. Maybe he see's Roy as next seasons captain if Neil ain't playing.

keano had a great game an was very comanding. i think he was captain cause stan is goin yeh, but more importantly cause roy the bhoy is staying and perhaps if lenny is just goin 2 b a squad player that keano will b on field captain nxt season. was glad 2 c him with the arm band on thou, he looked proud. (still cant believe he plays for us sometimes!!)

 

Petrov doesnt command the same respect now because he is looking to leave. I know it wouldn't be professional but would you take an ear-lashing off a player that wants to leave the team? Keane will be here next year, Petrov has made his bed...

 

I agree Dempsey. Keano is a natural leader, been captain at united for many years. he can offer anything: leadership, respect and experiences.

 

even before keane got captiancy last nyt, u watch him roaring at players and helping out other players when lennons captian!!

This guy is a * *!!! If only we could have got him years ago. His performance against Killie was typical and if you remember how he was playing in the CIS final before he got hurt. He was everywhere.

Let's pray he stays next year.

I seen Keane as captain for 2 reasons.

1)Petrov's * off the Summer, * giving captaincy to him.
2)Who the * else is going to command the same as Keane.

 

So he wouldn't give it to Petrov because he his leaving, then he did give it to Keane because he was leaving!!!!!!!!

 

I would imagine GS is more or less letting Stan and the others what he feels!
